On a Holland American Cruise 12/08, purchased a diamond ring from Diamonds International. Was told the paperwork on the ring was "in the vault" and that they would mail it to me immediately. The salesman who sold me the ring & personally assured me of this was Kelly. It's been more than a week and no paperwork.

I took the ring to a jeweler to get it appraised. Immediately, the jeweler told me that the setting is defective, missing several prongs, and that the diamonds are in danger of falling out. He advised me not to wear it until it gets repaired.

I have not had an appraisal yet, but based on other negative comments and the two previous problems, I now have a sick feeling that I was ripped off on the quality of the diamonds as well.

I have sent e-mails to the company and have not gotten any response. I have have a bit of the run-around from the Holland America "Buyer's Guarantee" people. This is turning into a daily battle and a hassle.

Diamonds International fails to follow through on simple promises like sending appropriate paperwork for an expensive purchase I made. They have sold me a shoddy ring with a defective setting. Therefore, I am concerned that the diamonds they sold me also will not be what they promised me. I thus far have no reason to believe either in their promises or their products. When the appraisal comes in, I will update this report.

My advice: avoid this store and its products! And tell Kelly in St. Maarten that he should send me my paperwork, as he wholeheartedly assured me he would when he took my money.
