Digi Express Made me buy unnecessary parts. States to much to repair. Now won't return my ipod. Only get voicemail when I call Arnold Pennsylvania

I sent my Ipod Touch to DigiExpress for diagnosis and repair. First they told me it needed a new LCD and battery which I purchased and sent to them. After a long wait of hearing nothing I called but only got voicemail each time. So, I emailed them. Then I was tod my ipod was awaiting diagnosis.
They sent me an email after the replacing the battery and LCD screen saying that the ipod is not working after replacing these parts and I now need a main electronics board. What are they doing? It seem they replace one part at a time to see if it fixes the problem, instead of actually diagnosing the problem. This is costly to the customer. Sadly in the end your ipod still doesn't work and Digiexpress won't return it to you.
This is the last email I received from this company.
Your iPod diagnosis is as follows:

Our repair technician has determined that you will need the following items to complete the repair:

Main electronics board

Unfortunately there is no way to cost effectively repair or replace a main board in an iPod touch, the cost of parts exceeds the value of the iPod. We will install the glass & digitizer upon your request although the itouch will not work properly with just this part & ship it back to you.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Our office hours are Monday - Friday 9:30am - 4:30pm EST.

After this email, I asked them to send back everything to me. It has been 2 weeks and no sign of my Ipod. Don't send your Ipod to DigiExpress if you want your Ipod repaired and returned to you.

Weird, I recieved the same message after about 2 months, another weird thing is it worked fine before, all that i needed was a new screen,Hmmmmmmmm very very interesting...... to make things worse, it was charging compleatly fine untill they replaced the battery...... please get back to me.

Hi *********, We did receive a further diagnosis from the technician today: Upon close inspection and testing of your iPod, we have discovered a problem with your Main Electronics Board as it will not accept a charge. We value our customers, providing them with the most cost effective repair possible, and unfortunately there is no way to replace a logic board in this model of iPod, as the cost of the part exceeds the value of the unit itself. We will ship it back to you. If you previously paid for any parts, you will be refunded for these parts. Please allow 10 to 14 days to process your refund. The $25 technician fee is non-refundable, as this pays our technicians to diagnose the issues and also for labor performed on the unit. We apologize for this inconvenience. There are several reasons why a logic board or main board may be faulty or damaged, and if you feel the need to discuss your diagnosis in further detail, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to assist you in any way we can. Thank you for choosing DigiExpress, we look forward to helping you and servicing your repair needs in the future.

We always refund any parts when an iPod is deemed 'not cost effective to repair', this customer specifically requested that we still put the digitizer in the iPod, so obviously we wouldn't refund a part they were going to keep.

In any repair business, there will be times that the original diagnosis misses another  problem. We accept that we sometimes make mistakes with a repair, but we always offer a refund or another solution to remedy the issue.

The issue with the 'Rip off Reports' is that you are hearing a very biased side of the story, which is usually embellished to make it more interesting. Unfortunately, we pay the price by losing business. But if you do the math, you will see that we are doing a pretty good job...
