I received an email payment confirmation from PayPal in the amount of $479.80 paid to Digital River Gmbh. I authorized no payment and have never conducted business with this company. PayPal is investigating my complaint. I have no idea how Digital River Gmbh accessed my PayPal account.

According to the activity log regarding my dispute, PayPal last attempted to contact Digital River on January 8. On that date, I received over 7800 email "mail delivery failure" messages. Coincidence? I doubt it. Digital River no doubt had my email address from PayPal as well and used my account for spamming purposes. From reading other ripoff reports, this is common practice for this company.
