I CANNOT believe Direct Energy! I was SWITCHED over to them over a year ago when Entergy went out of business. It has been DOWN HILL ever since. I didn't receive a STATEMENT from them in January and received a DOUBLE bill in February. (I called and they ADMITTED there was no BILL sent in January).
They had the gall TO access a LATE FEE!! I have ALWAYS made timely payments, but Direct Energy did not POST them until two weeks later, and they charged me more LATE FEES! (5% of my BALANCE!!)
I had my 'nuff' with them, so I searched AND searched until I found the BEST electric provider in Texas, AMBIT ENERGY! I immediately switched my electric service over to them, and in the process became a marketing consultant . I am now paying 11.99 per kWh. (This price is available to everyone).
The one thing we must all have is electricity, and if we can get it at the LOWEST RATE and best customer care in Texas, why not? (Unbiased references available from other customers)
If McDonald's had Big Macs in one area for $1.00 and down the street at another McDonalds they were selling them for $5.00, no doubt in my mind which one I would go to, and tell everyone about it!
Our electricity works on the same principal. EXACT same thing, just lower costs and GREAT customer care!

Ambit, Stream, or Ignite are all the same people. Check out what people have to say about them. You seem to be posting this rant more to promote your new 'business opportunity' than to voice a complaint about the ethics of this company operations.
You can't please all the people all the time, but more than a million satisfied customers just in Texas can't be wrong.
I have been working with Direct Energy for over two years doing door-to-door enrollments. I have provided my phone # to every individual and family I have helped. Not one has called me to complain when we lowered the cost of their electric service, or that we guaranteed the rate for 12 months without a contract or a cancellation fee. I have people say "Thank-you. Really appreciate what you guys do."
When Entergy Solutions withdrew from Texas Competitive Retail Electricity Market
Direct Energy had to transition nearly 100,000 customers with almost no advance notice. This process was achieved in exceptionally short time considering the size of the task. You don't note any problem at that time.
When you didn't pay the bill one month, why do you sound outraged that you got a bill for two months service?
Praise the Constitution for Freedom of Speech so you have the right to express your opinion...even bad mouthing Direct Energy to promote your new business venture.
