Direct Energy door to door energy sales, harassment, rude, claims to lower your electric bill, Houston, Texas

I was carrying my laundry in my apartment building when a Direct Energy Sales guy approached me on the staircase. He was a chubby kid with an obnoxious chin strap beard, glasses, wearing an orange Direct Energy shirt. He stopped in my way on the stairs and claimed he was looking for me and wants to ask about my electric bill because he works for an electric company.

I'm a young female and was  really skeptical and intimidated by this young man's approach, wondered how he got in the building since you need a certain key, and asked him to tell me what my name was and what apartment I had lived in. He answered "all of them" and didnt tell me my name, so I knew it was a lie and told him he had a shitty approach and can't believe people fall for that. I said we'll if you'll excuse me, I have some things to attend to, my energy bill is fine. First I thought he was a criminal in some costume and that he was he was let in the building, trying to outsmart the residents for apartment access. There are several residents who barely speak english in my building that would most likely fall to this trick. He then relentlessly tried to sell the idea of ways he can help me save on my electric bill. I told him our building was responsible for handling that and I'm fine with paying $18 a month with my current company. He kept whining and pressuring the idea of coming into my apartment for only 5 minutes to look over my electric bill and discuss lowering my rates. Still standing in my way and after him begging 3 times to come in for 5 minutes, " please ohh it's only 5 minutes, Please please pleaseee" I told him he was harassing me and that I would research his company and complain about his unprofessional behavior and attitude. I shoved him out of the way with my laundry basket and ran up the stairs to my apartment as he continued to whine in the hallway.

After doing research on this company, I find out this is a complete scam and I worry about others falling for these idiots. DO NOT give them any of your information and DO NOT let them into your home. They are extremely rude and do not go away after asking politely. I'm lucky I had the brains to tell this guy off without giving him my info because who knows if these lowlife's will try to hurt you physically as well.
