DISH Network-disorganized, incompetent, rude customer service

Computer shut down while I was in process of writing this before, so, I'll be brief.

DISH Network disconnected my service without notice.
I contacted them by phone, they told me I was in arrears.
I never received statement for past month but, told them I'd pay them over the phone. Transferred me to electronic voice response system, I paid by check, was given a confirmation number.

24 hours later, still no service. Called again with confirmation number, no record I paid. They were rude and condescending.

Getting angry now. Told them I'd send them a check but, not use their auto system again as the guy in customer service said, "It could've been sent to someone else's account; you'll have to have your bank trace it." (You can't trace a paperless trail and proving what DISH did with my payment is their responsibility, not mine) When I asked what would happen if I couldn't trace it he said I'd just "be out of the money". This moron actually holds a job??

After terminating the conversation, I contacted my bank and advised them to stop payment on electronic transfer and called DISH back; female rep this time...said I could try auto system again and advised me the company needed not one but, two month's payment, a $25.00 reactivation fee and they would automatically be entitled to $240.00 penalty payment for my having terminated contract prior to one year anniversary date of installation. (I didn't breech the contract, they cut me off).

I mailed them the amount they say I owe but, I suspect I will be seeing a theft of $240.00 in the form of an electronic debit to my bank account.

Give me the old days before computers and corporate down-sizing when customer service and company integrity existed and people spoke to each other with mutual respect.

I'll do without t.v. before I give in to extortion. We pay for a lot more than we get from what I've seen.

My first report that didn't get sent was more indepth but, I'm too angry right now to retype it as this just happened today.
