Doba a.k.a. Wholesale Marketers is a scam!

Like many other eBayers', I was hoping to find a way to make some extra money. Of all of the other options, "dropshipping" seemed like an easy (and affordable) way to sell products for a profit. Who would have thought crooks hide in plain sight... with supposed referrals from eBay!

Two days ago I was online researching dropshippers for use on eBay. Doba was popping up everywhere. Had to be legit, right?

I went to their site, www.doba.com, and poked around for awhile. The products seemed decent (although the prices are hidden until you register) and they had a "No Obligation 7 Day Trial". During the registration process they asked for my credit card information. According to the site, the credit card would no be billed until after the trial had ended - if I didn't cancel beforehand.

I then registered with excitement. I could smell the extra money already! I went through the tutorials and searched for my first item to sell. The prices were really high, but it was worth a shot while I was in my trial. I grabbed a really cute alligator and diamond cuff ring and registered the item for auction. All was great until today...

After playing online for awhile today I decided to check the balance on my prepaid card, which I do very often. Low and behold! There are two charges on my card that were from Wholesale Marketers! Huh?! Who's that? Luckily, I only put small amounts on the card at a time because on internet theft. The first transaction was denied because of lack of funds, despite the fact that I had near thirty dollars on the card. The second transaction is still pending.

Who could this be? My research began. It took only moments to figure out that this was Doba. But they had no right to charge my card during the trial period! I was furious. I immediately filed a complaint with the BBB of Utah and found out that this is fairly common practice! I thought it was illegal to withdraw funds from someone's account without authorization!

I plan on pursuing this matter for awhile. I am not upset over the two dollars, but over the crooked and unethical practices of this company. Please warn fellow eBayers looking to make a quick buck.
