Attention, My son and his friend rented a car at Boston Logan. They asked for compact, they were told to upgrade and pay for luxury car. Because they were under 25 , they had to pay $60 apiece extra. They were told to buy insurance, which they didn't need. They also added extra charges pulled from thin air.

All in all a $57 car cost over $100 a day, and
they had it only for 2 days!! They had limited cash, but Dollar stole most of it. Dollar is a disgrace to the American people, taking advantage of the young who do not yet know how corporations are out to siphon money off of people.

Do not Rent from Dollar Rent A Car!! The Attorney General should investigate this company for stealing
money from people. There is no difference between Dollar and the common petty thief.

Isn't your son an adult?

AUTHOR: Carlos - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 06, 2007

I always have pity on the people who write in claiming corporations have taken advantage of youngster.s . an adult male of over 18 should be completely responsible and comprehend a simple rental agreement. More than likely your son had to pay an underage fee which I believe with Dollar is $25.00 per day. If his friend wanted to drive they also paid $25.00 this is all stated in rental car policies.

It is very hard for me to believe that an adult cannot tell their rental agent, I am not paying an upgrade because I you dont have the car I reserved.

If anything I feel this is buyers remorse and it is unforunate that many people who have this remorse actually complain.

The rental agreements for rental car companies are very reader friendly, so if your " taken advantage of youngster" (over 18 yr old adult) had simply taken the time to read and not blindly signed; we would not be writing about this today.

Why??

AUTHOR: Angelina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 20, 2006

Why were they told they had to upgrade to a luxury car?? Was a compact not available??

Also, I thought that you couldn't rent a car if you were under 25. Maybe it's just my state.

So much for that bargain dollar rent a car they advertise.
