I purchased a 2001 Nissan Altima GXE from Drive Time in Kissimmee Florida on August 15, 2007. On August 16 the service engine light came on. I noticed the car shaked slightly, almost as if it wanted to stall. Every speed bump I went over, every stop sign and light I stopped at, any traffic I was in, it would shake. I would step on the gas slightly only for the vehicle to rev up like I stepped on it hard. It idoled so low, I actually needed to put the car in park and step on the gas every time the car was at a stop. It was so bad that if i was in bumper to bumper traffic it would idol to zero and stall on me.

Of course, while it was still under warranty, I called to have this problem resolved. Jeremy, which was the manager at the time said to take it to Tires Plus for a diagnostic test. The final report was stated, multiple misfire. I waited several hours for my vehicle to be fixed. Almost $500.00 worth of work was done. I drove away, 20 minutes later the service engine light was on again and the shaking problem was still there. A week later I called Drive Time and told them this problem was still ocurring. Now, just in a weeks time, Jeremy the manager was relocated to a different location and Bill had the position. I explained again to Bill of my problems. As he looked at my records, there was surprisingly no information of any sort in regards to my vehicle. At this time, I was aware Drive Time did pay for the first repairs that were done, but was thinking to myself, I need a copy of that bill. Bill then told me to take it back to Tires Plus. I did, only to have other repairs of almost $500.00 done. Da ja vu, 20 minutes later, the service engine light came on and here I am shaking.

Mind you, I live an hour away. Sixty miles there and sixty miles back I was putting on that car three days out of the week to have this problem resolved. Before there three month, 3,000 miles warranty was over, they were giving me the run around. I even gave one of the supervisors my keys to drive what they had sold me and he told me to contact the warranty dealership!! I did so and spoke to Julie. She said they were based in Arizona! Now, how was she going to test drive my vehicle?? She told me to take it to the Nissan dealership. I made the appointment, then called Julie back to inform her on what day and the time I would be going. She said they would cover the diagnostic fee. When I got there, Nissan wanted proof that they, Drive Time, was going to pay the bill. When I contacted Julie that day, she did not even put the information I had given to her in the system. She, and I quote said," Why won't Nissan work with us." All I thought was Why don't Drive Time work with me!!! I waited on the phone for 3 hours at this dealership. I faxed over the information to Drive Time for the payment information. When I called the warranty dealership and asked how much longer will it be to fax over this information so my car can finally be checked, she told me FORTY-FIVE minutes. I faxed and recieved faxes before. Who is she speaking to!? The employee that was there felt do bad, he went out himself to look under the hood. Just under five minuters he told me it was my intake manifold gaskit.

Now, Tires Plus wants nothing to do with my vehicle. Drive Time was Old Times, I didn't and still don't want to deal with them. Now, a year and three months later, the problem is HORRIBLE. I waste so much gas from it stalling and continuosly stepping on the gas while it's in park. I fianally went to my fathers michanic. He fixed it. No more shaking! And do you know how much it was to fix... almost $500.00. Now, Drive Time spent almost a grand to not fix the problem when they could have saved and just fixed it.

They're hounding me for a $400.00 payment. Yes, I pay $400.00 a month for a used 2001 P.O.S. Within 4 1/2 years I will have payed over $20,000.00 for it. My brother just bought a 2003 Impala off the street for $6,000. It runs beautiful. I told Drive Time, it was either finally fix the vehicle so I continue getting to work safe and alive, or pay you. How can I keep paying on a bill if I can't get to work because the vehicle you sold to me does not function! I also informed them of the real problem and that I will mail them the copy of the receit, they replied the warranty doesn't cover that. LOL, really!!! All those times it stalled when I was going under 25 mph. But they sure do cover making those phone calls 2 hours if you're late on a payment. They even call every single REFERENCE I had given them. A reference!! What are they going to, pay my dues? I think not.

If there is any advice out there please inform me. I just want to give the vehicle back! I believe they were purchased after hurricane Katrina! I only have 92,000 miles on it. A nissan runs forever! Can you believe that car still needs over $700.00 worth of work. If you are buying from any Drive Time, please be aware! Sometimes it's better buying from a neighbor then buying from a dealership that promises you lies!!
