you would think that this company is legitimate because they've been around for a while but today i saw how much of a scam e-cost's platinum premium membership really is.
first off, all the details of the membership will first claim that you get FREE ground shipping and discounted express shipping - such a lie from the start. they will only allow you upto 5 items to be shipped and must all be under 10lbs each. if you go above 5 items, that's the end of your free shipping.
even with discounted 'express shipping', you will not get it in the time frame given to you. if you go with 2 day shipping, you'll get it in about a week.
next - the platinum deals, huge scams. i caught them in it 6 times just TODAY on my DAY OFF. the proof, i was refreshing every 30 seconds from start to end.
first up, i was a jvc dvd player for $5, it never showed up, went straight to the 'previous outrageous offers' - i called and complained, they claim i was probably too slow - according to my global military time, i was about 6 seconds late.
second, logitech wireless mouse for $2, same story, 5 seconds late.
third, sandisk 16gb flash drive for $15, same story, 2 seconds late. i called and stated that there's no way someone beat me from the time it went up to being 2 seconds. the sales person claimed that in order for it to not be available, it must be purchased. i complained that there's now way for it to show up and be purchased within 2 seconds. we got into an argument and was told that there are 2 ways to get the deal, follow it in the platinum discount section or go to the items page. so i went to the individual items page and i continued for more proof.
fourth, i went after an ipod for $9, same story, 1 second late. i called up complaining theres no way someone added it, filled out all the info, and purchased it within 1 second. i asked if there way any way to get around it such as having the item in your cart at normal price then purchase it at regular price but i was told that was not possible.
i then noticed that they had a pcusa usb adapter which was posted EARLIER than they claimed it would be announced. so i called up to harass them about it. it was supposed to be posted between 3-6PM PST but appeared 9:19:56AM PST. a few minutes later, it pops up automatically in the past deals. thats FIVE.
sixth, i went after hp netbook for $79 timing was perfect! and i got a screenshot. this time when i called, i got hung up on...
i called back again with my list of complaints and of course - no refunds on my platinum premium membership and they refuse to offer 'partial' refunds
