EHarmony No matches no response to emails requesting cancellation Internet

Curious about the great opportunities Eharmony advertises, I signed up for a three month trial. One month into the trial, I had not received any matches. I sent an email through the only means available - a consumer contact form on the website - and received no response. Tried to call - was put on eternal hold.

Two months later - still no matches - sent another email through the online form, again the only means available - demanding cancellation and asking for a refund. Still no response. Stopped signing in and forgot about it for a while.

Four months later, I am billed a $29.95 service fee. I have not signed in to the site for two months at this time, but the last time I did I had no matches and could not get through to them. I called eharmony about the fee. The man told me I would have to write a letter to corporate HQ - a PO Box in Pasadena. I plan to send it certified because I do not trust that they will read my mail or honor my request. These are the most egregious business practices I have ever been subjected to.

I have been on another well known dating site for years which uses statistics to match people based on commonly answered questions. I have never had any problem receiving matches in the 65% to 85% range, so I do not believe I am unmatchable. I have heard rumors that you must be Christian to get matched, but have been unable to verify. What I do know is that Eharmony cares nothing about the people who sign on to their service, but rather about seeing how quickly they can get their grubby little corporate hands into your checking account.

Don't do it!!! There are many other sites out there, like okcupid, for instance, that are free or low cost and don't prey on people like Eharmony does.
