I would like to add my story to that of those already submitted. I echo their reports. We received in return for our newspaper subscription a two-night stay of our choice, anywhere Encenta Promotions Inc. offered on their map.

I tried to use a vacation getaway certificate and admit that although I had a full year to utilize it I waited until July 20, 2005 to submit the form. I didn't think this would be too late since I was requesting for days in September and October and was requesting mid-week days.

I received a polite letter dated 8/2/05 telling me under our program there is no availability for three dates you have requested.

Given the short time available to comply with utilizing it before December 1st expiration date and 40 days after the postmark, I wrote back August 15, 2005that I would take ANY dates available within that time frame.

Their response dated 8/23/05 give their reason for denying my request because All request forms must be postmarked at least 40 days prior to your earliest travel date. I thought I had complied with that by being willing to take any date within the ever dwindling time-frame

Wrote them another letter dated September 2, 2005. Thinking that since I had not crossed out the previous information on the request form they had gotten confused, I crossed out the desired location, asking them to refer to the cover letter. I crossed out the desired dates and wrote whatever is available.' I reiterated in my cover letter that we are very flexible in terms of dates and even gave them three choices for locations.

The last letter from them dated 9/13/05 gives the reason for denial as: 1]All request forms must have all three travel dates listed in order for them to be processed. These requests are submitted to the hotels in mass quantities. The hotel will not accept a form unless there are three dates, at least 10 days apart due to the volume they are handling. 2] Your desired destination is not listed on the form.

While their needs sound reasonable, I would point out that it would have been nice to return a new form to be completed with the denial letters. Additionally, it would be nice if we were given more than three dates to provide. Or add a will take whatever you'll give.

At this point I decided to stop wasting my time with this program, luckily the only thing it cost me was time and postage
