Family Credit Counseling Corporation default, non-payment, creditors aren't paid Lauderdale Lakes Florida

I thought I had a pretty good debt-management program with Family Credit. I was with them since about November of 2006, until October 2008. Unfortunately in those 2 years, there were several times when my payments reached the creditor late, hurting my rating, and worst of all (and most recently) there were times that my payment didn't reach the creditor AT ALL, forcing me to either double-pay or apologize to the credit card company that it wasn't my fault (which they don't care about - they just want their money.)

Family Credit transferred all of their accounts to a new service as of October this year - I assume because they couldn't keep up with payments, and it really shows. Two of my creditors weren't paid for that month, and even though the money was withdrawn from my account, I'm still liable, and Family Credit should pay me back for the money I've lost.

I'm currently 3 payments behind on one card (which I can't afford to pay right now...I'm going to try to see if my new company can negotiate it so that the extra money gets added back onto my overall balance instead of having 3 months' worth of payments due.) These payments happened for May, June and October of this year.

I think Family Credit is shutting down, but their website is still active...I haven't tried calling them, because honestly I don't want to ever deal with them again. But I will call if it helps me recover the money I've lost over these 2 years.

All this, thanks to Family Credit - you've done a hell of a job, and judging by other reports on this website, I'm not the only one.
