Family Credit Counseling Corporation rip off artists Lauderdale Lakes Florida

I started with Family credit Counseling corporation a few years ago, about 2005 I think. I paid the up front fee, which I found from reading other posts was to be paid back to me which they never told me, and then I thought finally my debt would be paid off.

They got a really good percentage rate of 2%, which has made my bill dramatically go down, and much faster than the original 5 year repayment time they stated. Anyhow, I have had problems every once in awhile like everyone else with late payments, and a couple missed payments. It appears I am in better shape than others as I am only missing one 660.00 payment that was to be paid in 10/08. I have constantly been on them with making sure my payments arrived. I even set up alerts with my credit card company online to alert me when a payment was missed or paid. I would start calling them right away every month. the payment would then finally get paid, although late. I have to say after reading everyone elses posts that I am thankful that my credit card company has been so cooperative with me, they never charged me a late fee, and haven't raised my interest rate thankfully. They did say they would knock me off the debt management program if not paid.

I was missing one payment which was determined to be the 7/08 payment,and the 8/08 payment was late. They paid out both on 10/1/08.

Like everyone else I wasn't notified that ADC was taking over until Igot a letter telling me the beginning of October. ADC has already made my first payment to them to my credit card company so I guess I am hoping for the best.

I tried to get my company to just deal with me as I only have a few more months to pay off my debt, but they refused saying my interest rate would be jacked back up. I think I might actually try again using the information that FCCC has gone out of business and stolen my one month payment.

I may also look into filing with the attorney generals office, and may even look into it for my state as well as Florida.

If anyone else knows of anything else that can be done I would surely appreciate to hear about it.
