On June 14, 2011 I agreed to a magazine order. The offer was 3 magazine subscriptions for $9. When I am on the phone with sales agent she clarifies the $9 is a non refundable charge to preview the magazines. The actual cost is 98.52 but it wouldn't be billed until after 21 days of ordering and I preview the magazines. I never received anything but a $100 credit card charge. When I called the company supervisor Jennifer L. states they have a recording and that its a legal binding contract. So I said lets listen. We came to the part about the 21 day preview and not being charged unless I do not cancel. I said ok. So I said I looked for the product, none, I looked for the charge in 21 days, none. ON July 14 I get hit with a $to 107.52 deduction from my checking account, and still no product. The supervisor stated that my contracted preview was over the phone (absurd) and that the US postal has documented that I received my products. So I stated then I will call the post office and find out where my magazines are. Thats when Jennifer tells me oh no they don't have your magazines, they have delivery confirmation that I received paperwork to review. Thats when I stated you just stated that my preview was supposedly over the phone, and you can't preview magazines over the phone, I had 21 days to preview. She says thats not what I agreed to, I agreed to cancel in 21 days. I said yes which is supposed to be the preview period. She says no thats your cancellation period. So I said how can I preview something I haven't received. According Family Readers Services your preview of your subscription is during the initial sales call. They will not send you anything until after 8 weeks once you have paid the entire subscription fee. That was no where in the recording. I was never told I had to pay before I received the product. I was told the $9 non refundable fee was so that I could preview and then decide and I had 21 days from the date of order to cancel. I then told the supervisor I want to cancel now but you can keep the $9 as agreed to be non refundable, so she provides me with a cancellation number and then states you will receive your product in 8 weeks. I said I just cancelled. She says no that cancels any further charges, so they were going to keep billing. I still have no product and lost $100. Watch out for Family Readers Services of Elyria OH.
