Fast Relocation picked my things up from Orange County California, June 15th, 2008 with the promise of delivering them to New York City within 7 days. Edward loaded them on the truck he suddenly noticed the load looked bigger than originally quoted in the binding estimate.

He said it would be an additional $250 dollars and not a penny more. We agreed and signed the contract, which he drove away without giving a copy. Jessica later called, claimed Edward was new and did not know what he was doing and it was going to be even more money. We agreed and signed the contract, which he drove away without giving a copy.

When I didn't hear from the driver that week as promised I called Jessica and was told that he should have called me by now. She would try him again. He never called. Two weeks later we finally get a hold of Mike Cohen...the supposed owner/dispatcher.

He was completely rude. Turns out my things hadn't even left California yet. We asked for them back and he said that would be considered door to door and we would have to pay full price. We tried to go up and pick it up ourselves but he refused to tell me where my things were being held.

Two more weeks go by and Mike/Jessica are not responding to requests for updates. I filed a complaint with the American Moving Association which seemed to really aggravate him because suddenly he was going to drop off my things at my mothers house in California free of charge. He gave us a day and a window of time when they would be there. They never showed.

I proceeded to call his phone (voice mail full of course) twenty times in a row until he angrily picked up. He screamed something about his personal time and that he wasn't bringing it to my Mom's house. I was to hire a new mover and have them pick it up from Reseda....of course he didn't know where exactly my things were being held and said he would have to get back to me in two hours. He also warned me that if any member of my family tried to pick the stuff up, "there would be trouble."

I said forget it, I was calling the police. All of the sudden he was nice and apologetic and asked me to give him until the next day to find a truck. The following day my stuff was loaded on another carriers truck and shipped to New York 8 days later....41 days from original pick-up. Of course I had to pay the new carrier an additional $350.

The condition of my belongings was horrendous. Every box looked as though it had been thrown off a building. Some were open and looked as if they had been rummaged through because I found a few things that did not belong to me amongst my things. There were at least 5 large items (rugs, furniture, a painting, etc...) missing. Many things were broken or damaged. And I have a box sitting in my apartment that doesn't even belong to me. If you are missing a box, please right a rebuttal describing what is in the box and how I can contact you and I will ship it out to you ASAP.
