I Shipped 8 boxes of personal possessions for a temporary assignment in Va to CA. These boxes were my personal items including, clothes, shoes, coats, books, TV, computer, DVD player, DVD;s and many other Misc items

I did this because it seemed safe and I included a signature requirement. Well I was very wrong. The Kinko's office wrote the wrong apartment number in the address label. Since customers do not get a recieipt with the shipping address typed by the employee we do not get to see the error. My paperwork was correct? This is a major flaw in the FEDEX process.

My items were all shipped to the wrong address. The woman at the wrong address signed for the items?? When the items did not show up at my address I went online to find they were delivered? After calling dozens of times over a period of two weeks, FEDEX basically has a process that ensures they are no accountable. I informed them:

1) The delivery address was wrong

2) The person that signed was not the recipient (Blatant fraud) and they needed to recover my items.

Guess what..They made no attempt to recover the items or set up an investigation as to what went wrong. Basically for two weeks they stone walled me, telling me everything was fine, the boxes were delivered to the correct address. How insulting and insensitive to a person that lost many personal items worth thousands of dollars.

Then when I claim, guess what. They deny any wrong doing and dont pay the insurance. I have lost all faith FEDEX. They treat customers with contempt. I feel like I live in a third world country where our rights are zero and we should not expect anyone to do what is right. They tried to bury the problem and ignored all of my information. Also, this company makes it impossible to track information. They do not use email or faxes when dealing with customer service. The only recource is to use snail mail. In these situations telephone calls are worthless, no records.

I have been scammed, and suspect FEDEX employees may be implicated, they thought it was christmas when my TV and computer were in original boxes.

This is now a police report in Chula Vista. I know detectives have little time for these cases. I suspect justice will not likely be served. A great injustice

My intent is to take Fedex to the small claims court. I have all the paperwork. I keep all records. The morale of this story. Don't expect FEDEX to help when things go wrong. These guys are trained to basically block you and their system does not track these issues with any visibilty for the customer. They refused to allow me to even talk with the delivery station. They just want you to go away, and pretend all is well.

I am devastated and really angry with these guys. A great injustice has been done.

What?

You said "I Shipped 8 boxes of personal possessions for a temporary assignment in Va to CA. These boxes were my personal items including, clothes, shoes, coats, books, TV, computer, DVD player, DVD;s and many other Misc items"

8 boxes for all of that? Sounds fishy to me.

Either way your complaint is with Kinkos who wrote the wrong apartment number and whoever signed for it.

FedEx delivered to the address given to them and didn't leave the boxes without someone signing for them.

Doubt you will win

Signature required means just that, signature required. They don't have to verify identity, the items just have to be left with a person.

They have other delivery options available if you need a more secure delivery.

Here is probably what you got:

Direct signature
FedEx will obtain a signature from someone at the delivery address. If no one is at the address, FedEx will reattempt delivery. Direct Signature Required overrides any recipient release that may be on file for deliveries to nonresidential addresses.

here is what you should have gotten:
FedEx will obtain a signature from someone at least 21 years old at the delivery address (government-issued photo identification required). If no eligible recipient is at the address, FedEx will reattempt delivery. Adult Signature Required overrides any recipient release that may be on file for deliveries to nonresidential addresses.

Even still, they do not have a delivery method that is to a specific person, they deliver to a specific address. What you should be doing is finding out where they were delivered to and going to that address to speak with the person living there. They are the one who committed a crime by keeping packages that clearly were not theirs.

Also, insurance only covers your package if it were lost or damaged. It was not lost or damaged, they have proof where they delivered it to. You are going after the wrong person.

STRANGE

I don't know how it works at the FedEx where you are but this is how it works where I am. I fill out a FedEx label and stick it on the box or package. I get a copy of what I filled out. I hand the box/package to the FedEx person. I can go back to the office and track the package to see when it left that office, when it left my town, when it arrived at the other town, when it got on the truck and when it got delivered and who signed for it. I never heard of anyone moving by FedEx.
