Feldman Law Center can't complete a loan modification for ANYONE in a timely manner, and in many cases, not at all. They took in 500 clients who paid their retainer fees upfront before they hired the first real negotiator. That was in September 2008. Then they hired several unskilled people to help process the files and in turn trained them to be negotiators. The new unseasoned negotiators are paid less that a true negotiators or paralegals. They don't have the skills to negotiate with the lenders legal departments. The negotiators will loose your entire file several times over many months and ask you to repeatedly fax all your documents back to them. Now they are so back logged that they may not touch your file for several months, yet they are still taking in a record number of new clients. People believe the ads that they hear on KFI, Dr Laura, and other radio stations. Many clients have lost their homes to auction and Feldman didn't even know their client had an auction date. Due to the excessive amount of clients and being understaffed, they will stall and tell the angry clients it will now take 6-7 months to complete a loan modification. Even though they have put statements in the retainer agreement concerning the prevailing party will be awarded attorney fee's, they will tell the client they don't know anything about that. When the exhausted client is facing moving in the street with their children, Feldman will not return the retainer fee. Good luck fighting for that back. Feldman will take in new client's money knowing the lender will never approve the loan modification and keep the retainer fee for 6-7 months without a refund. They wait until the client is so angry and threatening before they are willing to do the right thing and return the retainer fee. They know they can't fulfill the service but they keep the fee as many months as possible. Many of the lenders will tell the negotiator within a week if the loan modification is going to be accepted. Many clients end up with a monthly payment higher that what they started with. Feldman tells them that is a loan modification and they must accept it. Since the negotiators have no knowledge of the industry or back bone, they are not fighting for the client to get the best settlement. This information is from an insider's prospective as an employee, not a client. Protect your families and your homes.

There are no excuses for a boiler room like this, dont make excuses for them!

Just to clarify for people like Jim:
1. To recieve advanced fees for this service you "must" be an attorney.
2. Highly trained negotiators are "key" to results, and the attorney must be properly staffed to handle the volume of clients they are accepting.
3. There are professional attorneys who produce "real" results for homeowners in trouble.
4. Unfortunately, the only people getting real help and returned phone calls are those who have "real" legal representation.
5. Shops like Feldman and the rest "will" be prosecuted by the attorney general, and the state bar.
6. If you have been a victim of companies like Feldman dont be intimidated by their threats or claims your file was worked on, dont back down. Contact the Attorney General and State bar so others dont lose everything.
7. A real law firm offering this service will not sound like you are walking into a car dealership or mortgage sweat shop.

Skeptical - But Clarification Needed

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 13, 2009

The truth is, if you need a law firm to modify your loan, you're already in a world of hurt and problems you can't even deal with. Banks aren't your friend and they have no incentive whatsoever, even with the cheap ideas tossed in commercials, to renegotiate your loan. So if you're knocking on their door, it's way past the time you needed to do something about your mortgage. The OP as an insider who, while seemingly tries to expose some underhandedness, complains about their employees not being paid at the same level as a paralegal or a skilled negotiator. Guess what? They're not either of those things. They've been trained to do that work, but they aren't paralegals nor are they skilled (or unskilled) negotiators. If people pay a retainer without looking deeply into the firm they're plopping down the retainer for, then no wonder they're in trouble with their mortgages. I mean how about a little due diligence??

Having said all of that, the Feldman Law Center, from what I can see, does not advertise as promised, but (1) there are no promises, and (2) it isn't illegal to do what they're doing. Even if the guy running the law office doesn't have to be a licensed attorney in California; he just has to be an entrepreneur with his fees paid and a business plan. There's another business here in CA that sells how to beat a speeding ticket and his office of lawyers will help you. Is the guy running the firm a lawyer himself? NO. All the guy needs is what I said and he has that. He comes off more as a collector than a lawyer - there is a distinct difference and the methodology behind all of the guy's advertisements seem to back that up....

The OP may be absolutely right in their ineffectiveness in handling certain mortgages. However, with the way things are - if you show up at a place like this ina world of trouble, how close are you to losing everything? Probably real close, and no legit or illegit company would be able to help you.

Let the truth continue to expose the Feldman Law Center

Unfortunately this blog about Feldman is "Spot On" ! If you have been a victim of this company please contact the State Bar and Attorney General. They will only act in force once enough people have complained about this company. You may also want to make your voice heard with KFI and the people who endorse them there.
Keep in mind that they will try and appear legitamite from the files that were modified ignoring the hundreds they had no business taking money from.
Look for the blog on ripoffreport from a Mr. Patel, and combine it with what has been shared by the person who wrote this blog, and you have a crystal clear picture of who these people are.
If you are reading this and represent a state agency, all I can say is "follow the money"! The majority of the money will be going into a company called
800Refi.com! This is Greg Feldman old mortgage company, however they no longer even have a legal broker of record with the department of real estate.
Why has attorney Feldman been paying a mortgage company the lions share of the retainer fees coming into their office???? Oh wait, they will tell you they are the staffing agency for Feldman Law, yet Greg Feldman makes it clear to his "employees" that it's his company and he's in charge. I'm sure they are scrambling now to appear legitamite...
He is still running the ad on KFI that states "this is Greg Feldman" of the Feldman Law Center. No disclosure that he is not an attorney and many clients have been given the impression that he is by this radio ad.
Once the state bar really audit's this place they will be in big trouble.
It's amazing these people are still operating in the State of California.
