I was contacted by a guy named Scott Davis who claimed to be a senior loan consultant for Fidelity Lending Group. He told me he received my online application (www.fidelitylending.net) and I was approved for an $8,000 personal loan with a 6% fixed interest rate and 48 month term. In order to receive the loan I had to make 8 consecutive monthly payments which totaled $1313.27 ($187.61 monthly) and that the total sum of the collateral payments would be applied directly to principal and interest. He explainded that this was a secured loan similiar to a car loan which usually requires a down payment, the only difference was I would have to wire the money to a Victoria Kapnick in Bella Coola, Canada. This women was supposed to be in the accounts receiveable department for the lender. I asked Scott Davis the name of the lender and he told me that information was confidential. This raised a red flag so I did my research and found out the address listed on the contract did in fact exist but there was no suite number, so I called several of the businesses in this building and no one knew weather or not that company was there. I also called the Attorney General office and found out a women called in and said she wired this guy a large amount of money and he came back and said she needed to send an additional amount of money. Well she ended up sending $3500 and never received the money promised to her in her bank account the next day. Also the company is not listed with the Florida Department of Financial Services, Consumer Affairs, Consumer Services, or the Secretary of State. I also found out there is indeed a company by the name of Fidelity Lending Group, LLC located in Jacksonville and in Atlanta but this is a mortgage company not affiliated with Scott Davis company. I believe this guy probably takes money from a certain amount of people and then changes his number, because the 866 number he operates from has only been in exsistence since 7/11/07. Another strange thing about the number is when you press 0 for customer service you only get voicemail, and there is no employee directory, in fact I tried to guess several different ext. and the only one that works is Scott Davis ext. 749. When I last spoke with him I asked for his companies employer ID number and he got tongue tied and said it was on the website, when I informed him it wasn't and asked to speak with a manager he told me he was the only one in the office. So please be aware of these internet scams because after my reseach I found that it is illegal to ask for a down payment for a personal money loan in the state of Florida.
