First American contractor attempted to collect $495.00 to replace water heater after taking two days to respond. This is about the same cost if I did not have this ripoff "insurance" policy.  Charged me $55 to just show up and then the attempted extortion. First American confirmed that I MUST pay whatever charges their ripoff contractor says I need to "properly" fix the water heater. My licensed contractor replaced my water heater for a TOTAL of $475.

This company should be outlawed.

first american home buyers protection corp. CMS Garage Door's INC.(925) 864-3033 The Garage door cables & spring broke. There was no why to open the door with or with out the dore opener . our auto,s traped in there. at 4:30 pm. I called first American Proction for some one to come out to repair or fix. I had a hard time explaining what the problem was to there agent. they had no understanding of what the component of this item. I repeat specifically what was wrong & the need to have it repaired with in 24 hr. .there only option was for me to wait for two (2) days . The Contractor they had contact us( C.M.S Garage Door,s INC.) contact us and told use that we need to call the insurance agent to have them contact some other company. Plus that the Items that need replacement was not under the home warranty. Van Nuys California

First American Home Buyers Protection Corp Work Order 606116377 Sent out 4 plumbers, refused to replace covered water heater. I paid out of pocket for a new one. I have been a long-time customer. They called the rust from the water heater sediment and said it was a maintenance issue, not covered. The water heater was 10 years old and complete rusted. Van Nuys California
