Purchased a car from First Class Cars. During test drive, Alex stated that the rough feeling while braking was just ordinary ABS. Also stated that the oil light coming on was just low oil and that oil would be added before we left. During sales negotiations, George the owner said that because the air conditioning was not working, itwould be recharged and if that did not solve air conditioning problem, he would not just charge for labor, just for parts. Brought back car for air conditioning recharge the next day. Technician put three (3) cans of refrigerant into the system and said that should fix it. First of all, three cans would seriously overcharge the system, and second, refrigerant leaked out within 10 minutes of leaving the dealership. When I called back about this problem, I was told that First Class's shop could not deal with a "high" pressure problem in air conditioning and that I would have to have the work done elsewhere and at full price.
About one month later, water pump went out. I had it serviced at a reputable shop. I asked them to look at the ABS and tell me why the steering wheel shimmied and the brakes shook. I was told by the shop that car had warped rotors and the tie rod ends were so bad, they should not have passed inspection. I tried contacting First Class cars and was told to ask for "Dave Stevens". I left six (6) messages for him and never had a return phone call. I then attempted to contact the owner, George, and was given voicemail each time, and also left him a comparable number of messages and never received a call back. My suspicion is that when you call with the name "Dave Stevens" its not the name of a real person, but a code name that tells employees there is a problem and it can be ignored and hopefully the customer goes away.
At this point, if i heard rumors about anyone considering buying a car from these people, I would warn them off. They obviously have no customer service skills, they are skilled at selling junk cars that have hidden problems that they try to explain away, and they absolutely will not provide you any assistance after a sale has been completed, but they want to supposedly give you a kickback of money if you refer others.

Jim, either you are a troll or you are just one of the more cynical people I have ever encountered. I am sorry that your experience is that people are always out to screw you. I was still hoping there were some honest people in the world that when they agreed to fix something, they would do it. You are obviously not much of a mechanic based on your first post, and you really seem to be a paranoiac based on your second. I don't intend to waste further time on you. Hope you have something positive happen to you to restore your faith in human behavior.

I understand those problems were discovered during the test drive. (Would you believe there are people in this world who wouldn't have even done a test drive!) These were SERIOUS problems as opposed to something like a light being out or scratch. You went in to buy a car you could drive and get some use out of. Yet, you were presented with a piece of junk with MULTIPLE SERIOUS PROBLEMS and you went along with it and bought the car! Don't you think you can do better than that??? Without regard to them claiming they'd fix it...the car had MULTIPLE SERIOUS PROBLEMS which should have been passed on by you.

Jim, read carefully. These problems that manifested themselves on the test drive were duly reported at the end of the test drive and the dealer, First Class Cars said they were going to deal with them, so there was no expectation of "free service" after the car was purchased, they were supposed to be fixed at the time of purchase.

First off, an oil light coming on means LOW OIL PRESSURE...a serious problem. But then again there were other obvious problems which showed up on the test drive. Why then did you play DOORMAT and buy this junk? Did you get a warranty? If not, why would you expect free service on a car YOU AGREED to buy with multiple problems?
