Went to look at a 2002 Infiniti I35 that was advertised for $8,999. I was on 8/17 and was told by a salesperson that the price "was around $12,995" or so. I'm assuming that he told me that because there are no prices on the cars and not many people research them, so they can tell you what they want and see if they can get you to pay. Also, when I was looking at the car there was a service order in the glovebox that indicated that several repairs needed to be done to the car (brakes, power steering pump, etc.). That invoice was missing from the car when I returned (surprised?).
Went back on 8/25 and met Steve. I drove the car and the ride was okay. After driving it, Steve told me that the price was $8,999 take it or leave it. Because that was an okay price on the car, I decided to have it checked out by Infiniti for mechanical issues. When Infiniti inspected the car, they told me that it required $2,000 to $3,000 in mechanical work to repair the car. There was no record of any of the major services being done (30k or 60k) and that failure caused several problems.
When FCC saw the report, Steve told me that it was a lie and Infiniti was trying to get me to not purchase their vehicle so I would buy one from their dealership. I told Steve that I had already checked their lot so there was nothing for them to gain by lying. Although he had proof of mechanical issues in his hands, he still refused to negotiate on the price and, when I arrived back on the lot, refused to even come out and talk to me. He had someone else come out and hand me Infiniti's inspection report. Guess they're not going to leave that in the car either. I was told they'd just sell it to someone else for that price (I guess someone who wouldn't know they were purchasing something with SERIOUS issues).
If you shop here, make sure to get the car inspected by a good mechanic (not theirs who thinks everything is exaggerated and all cars are mechanically fine) because there may be issues they refuse to disclose. Given what I've read here, I would say that's a pretty good bet. Good luck if you wind up with this car.

#5 Consumer Suggestion
My advice to all those who have encountered problems....

I am too a victim of this company and I would suggest reporting this company to as many consumer protection companies as possible such as the Better Business Bureau or the Consumer Affairs of Utah. If that fails, file a small claims suit. You dont need a lawyer and it only costs $40 to file a suit. It is a simple process to file suit....let your voice be heard!

Slander? Hmm, slander is reporting untruths while everything I said was exactly true. Also, your assertion that I should not be posting because I was not ripped off (because I did not purchase the car), I thought this forum was to assist others from being ripped off as well as reporting when you get ripped off. In fact, the home page indicates: "Ripoff Report is a worldwide consumer reporting Web site and publication, by consumers, for consumers, to file and document complaints about companies or individuals."
Now, you make some absurd claims that I will address:
CLAIM: "You're only mad because a $4000 discount from the car dealer wasn't enough"
RESPONSE: If you read my post, I never indicate what numbers were negotiated between myself and FCC. I was actually asking for just a few hundred off the asking price after the repair report came in, but that's irrelevant. What was said is that when I first visited and they didn't know I knew the website price, $8,999, and they indicated that the asking price was $12,995. The $8,999 is not a $4,000 discount, it was the actual price and the $12,995 was, in my opinion, an attempted gouge. Either that or the first salesperson was really stupid.
CLAIM: "This David guy, if that's his real name"
RESPONSE: That is my real name (I would post my contact information but do not believe that is allowed by the terms of the board).
CLAIM "This David guy . . . sounds like to me was never ripped off, is probably an employee at Tim Dahle and was just trying to ripoff another car dealer by making up some exaggerated repair list so that they could purchase the car at a ridiculous low price so that they could then resell it to the public at a much higher profit"
RESPONSE: Lots of garbage here. No, I'm not an employee of TD and in fact, don't work in the auto industry at all. The repair list was not exaggerated and many of the repair items were easily verified. Finally, I don't have time to try and resell cars and, since I don't work for TD, that blows your theory that they would resell it.
The purpose of my post was to inform others that if you shop at FCC, make sure you have the information you need to make an informed decision. Know the value of the car you're looking at and make sure it is mechanically sound. If you do those things and FCC has the car you want, then go ahead and purchase.

Ripoff or slander, you decide???

The ripoff report is for people who have been ripped off. After reading David's complaint it seems to me that he didn't even buy anything from First Class Cars so I don't understand why he thinks that he was ripped off by First Class Cars and should have never even bothered wasting everyone's time making up some story, dude you weren't ripped off. Get over it. You're only mad because a $4000 discount from the car dealer wasn't enough so you decided to slander the dealer because you were obviously pissed off that First Class Cars wouldn't give you an additional discount.
You did refer to the Infiniti dealer in Salt Lake City. The only Infiniti dealer in Salt Lake is Tim Dahle so you must be referring to Tim Dahle Infiniti which everybody from Salt Lake knows are the biggest ripoffs around. All that you had to do was read the paper or watch the news last week to hear the story how Tim Dahle wouldn't give a lady, who was trying to get her car serviced, her car keys back until she and her daughter purchased another car. The lady actually had to call the police so that she could get her keys back from and leave Tim Dahle. I also read an interesting ripoff report about Tim Dahle which I recommend to everybody. Everyone knows to never buy a car or repair a car at Tim Dahle.
This David guy, if that's his real name, who never bought a car from First Class Cars and who it sounds like to me was never ripped off, is probably an employee at Tim Dahle and was just trying to ripoff another car dealer by making up some exaggerated repair list so that they could purchase the car at a ridiculous low price so that they could then resell it to the public at a much higher profit. I had a buddy who used to work down there and he said these types of things happen all the time at Time Dahle as the newspaper has verified. I would never take a car to Tim Dahle to even have a battery changed. Next time David make sure you buy something before you try to convince everyone that you have been ripped off. The public is not as stupid as you think we are.

Now that they've raised the price, they can come down to their original asking price and the buyer will think he's getting a good deal. Gives them wiggle room in case the next buyer also gets it inspected.

Well, after showing them the $2,000 to $3,000 estimate to fix the mechanics of the car, they actually RAISED the price of the car from $8,999 to $9,999. Amazing.
