First Consumers National Bank ripoff Desmoines iowa

I had a FCNB credit card and paid off total amount in 1997, five years later a collection agency starts harrasing me saying I owe fcnb 2000 dollars.

I kept telling them this has been paid off but they want proof, thats what Im trying to do with my bank but its been so long ago we are having trouble finding the check. Thirty dollars an hour to try to look through tons of files to find evidence I had paid this off.

The collection agency than says we will make a deal with you and only charge you five hundred. Thank God I found this web site or we would of gotten ripped off again. My credit is shot because of this and the collection agency calls all the time. I dont know what to do.
