First Premier Bank But I DID NOT stop payment on that check!!! Sioux Falls South Dakota

My credit is in the trash, but I have a First Premier Bank credit card for the minor emergency here and there. I know FPB is a rip off with their outrageous hidden fees and interest, but check this out.

I recently made a signifdicant payment on the couple-hundred dollar balance I have. The due date was for a week and a half later, but I made the payment, sent the check, stapled the check copy (with the check number on it of course) to the bill, wrote "Paid $XX.00 on dd/mm/yy" on the bill, and put it in my "Paid Bills" folder.

After checking my bank account, I noticed that the amount I paid had not been withdrawn from my bank account. Hmph, I thought, that was a week and a half ago, and the due date is tomorrow. What's up

Turns out I call these clowns, and they tell me that I owe about $75.00 MORE than I owed before the payment now!!! (I had checked this on my online account with them, and was shocked to see the additional fees).

The reason? "You stopped payment on the check you sent us." I WHAT??? Knowing that no such thing had happened, I called my bank. Sure enough, they told me no, Mr. X, we have no records of you stopping payment on check number ****, and we have not even received that check from First Premier Bank. Duh. I would have freaking KNOWN if I had stopped payment -- not every day that this happens...or every year!!!

So, I call them again, confirm that the bank did not stip payment on the check, and the theif on the other end of the line tells me it is MY job to have my bank fax them proof that I did not stop payment on my check. Meanwhile, I am hit with megafees until I can get the chance to go to my bank and pay them to fax info (but what? an affadavit? How do I prove a negative like this?).

I will be reporting them to the authorities and suing them in small claims court if they do not rescind the fees they stole. First Premier Bank SUCKS. What a headache.
