After being turned away from 3 credit card companies, I applied for a card thru 1st Premier Bank. Of cours I was granted the card, but I was also granted a $178.00 balance on the card before I ever used it. The balance included alot of trumped up charges, they call Processing, membership, annual, and activation fees. That is totally ridiculous. The credit limit on the card is $250.00, and I was left with a starting available credit of $72.00.
I activated the card, to begin to re-establish my credit. Now in hindsight, I wish I would have done more research before applying. About a week after I recieved the card I went to another website; www.orchardbank.com, and found a much better offer on an (unsecured) credit card. They only charged a $19.00 processing fee, asided from the annual free of $35.00!
My advice to anyone is "don't always swing at the first pitch," do your research and be a better shopper when applying for credit card! One good thing I can say about First Premier Bank so far is, they do include written documentation of all of their fees and charges to you...the best way is use the card is like you were using it as a pay-day loan; which you pay off every.

You stated you knew what all the charges were for. Granted, the fees are excessive, but you knew this before submitting the application.
