First Texas Homes Bewarre They're ripping off people with earnest money, very unprofessional salesman all the way to Operations Manager, Kathy Self Arlington Texas

Of course First TX homes draws your attention when you find out how much house you can get for your money. That is how we got suckered in. We love the Frisco area and when we realized we can have a house built with 4000sf we jumped at the chance. We sold our home end of May 2007, we went to the Grayhawk community with hugh hopes of building a new home. We were sold with the model home First Tx has known as the Brentwood. It was perfect for what we were looking for.

We signed a contract with them on July 11, 2007. Ray Falcon is the main salesman out there had promised construction on our house in September 2007. We were told total time from contract to end of built time would be 9 months. We were asked to make decisions of material, brick, paint, trim upgrades etc and did so on August 11, 2007. We were also asked to put down $2000 of earnest money down in which we did. But construction of our home did not happen in Sept. as promised and in fact delays continued through the end of 2007.

On January 22, 2008 Ray once again committed that construction would finally start by the end of January 2008 and asked for an additional $2000 earnest money, in which we provided as well. Then within a week or so we received news of yet another delay & build start would be postponed AGAIN for another month or more.

At this point we had already been waiting 7 months since contract without any action on First Texas part. If we knew this was going to be 7-8 months or more before start of construction would happen, we would have never signed a contract. We could have looked at other options, looked for a house built already for move in.

This whole time we had moved a total of 3 times, and this last time signing a new lease for 7 months. We have been paying for storage for all our belongings since June 2007. So not only have we been financally affected by the delays, the stress has also been overwelming to us & our children.We had no other choice but to cancel our contract and seek other options.
So when we requested our money be returned, we were told no.

I called Kathy Self, she claims to be the Operations Manager and was so very rude, and would not let me even speak, talking over me and very cocky. She too refused our request for a refund and when I tried to explain all the broken promises and that they (First Tx) have not lost any money since they have not done nothing, she acted as if that wasn't her concern, not willing to hear me out or anything. I asked to speak to the President & she said no one talks to the President, as if he were God of something. We sent a certified letter as well to Mr. VanWolfswinkle and there has not been no responce, not a call, not a letter to let us know something. I guess they feel they are in the business to take people's money & not have to say anything about it.

Please don't let this happen to you, since this I have done some research & have found for them to NOT be a "quality" builder as they claim. I've learned there are unhappy homeowners out there who bought from First TX. So don't be scammed by them..if anything I hope they get out of the Frisco area out of Grayhawk and other communities. We don't want these types of builder here. So don't be fooled by them....DON'T BUY A HOUSE FROM FIRST TX...BIG MISTAKE!
