Fitness USA=National Credit Co.Fitness USA They use terrible pressure tactics San Francisco California

I visited USA fitness in San Francisco for seeing the facility there in 2001. I filled up some forms with my signature and provided my credit card number as well for receiving a temporally membership card. It happened a few months after I first came to USA. And then, I was busy for making a living and didnt take a look of the papers at all. I never return there to use the fitness service with the temporally membership card neither.

I run my first credit report of my life 2 days ago and found out I have an unpaid balance with National Credit Co. I called the number shown on the credit report yesterday to find out what's the balance for. The lady there told me that I had signed a contract with 30 months term with USA fitness and the balance with interest and some other charges now is $1225. She said my credit card had been cancelled and USA couldn't get the money from my credit card. Since it was 7-8 years ago, I don't remember which credit card number I filled in the form. And I had never received any notice from USA fitness or National Credit Co. I told her that if I did make a mistake, I am willing to pay for the 30 months membership fee and any other reasonable additional charge. But at least she can mail me the detail statement with the copy of contract. The lady told me that I can only give her my credit card number over the phone and threaten me by telling me I had only 10 minutes left to make the decision. Otherwise, I will need to pay more than $10,000 for the attorney fee. She started counting: 9 minutes I told her that I need to talk to my husband first, she said now you have only 7 minutes left I told her I need a statement for that. She hung up the phone.
