This company is a disaster area.

I overpaid and had a horrible experience. The movers got into a fight with my porter and sent him to the ER. They then THREW AWAY(not lost) my cats ashes, my bookcase, my kitchen chairs and all of my medications, vacuum cleaner and a whole lot more. When I called their customer service they made excuses for the crews behavior and tried to blame me.

They offered no apology and only offered to allow me to file a claim with the insurance I bought. This means I have to pay a 500 dollar deductible and have to pray that everything won't be disallowed. This is despite the fact that their crew threw my stuff in a dumpster.

They took no responsibility. I am so angry I set up a website to describe my experience and give an update as I go through my claims process. Avoid this company at all cost.

The website is (((redacted)))

Flat Rate Movers view of settlement

AUTHOR: Barry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 27, 2009

I thought that despite the pain I went through that we would have come to an amicable settlement. Instead after agreeing that their foreman THREW AWAY approximately 4,000 dollars worth of my property through negligence. They sent me a check for a 1,000 dollars using a loophole in the contract I signed. The contract said that because I only bought 5k of insurance and these movers moved 20k worth of things I am entitled to 25% of what I am owed. BTW the salesman, his name is Pat told me I really only needed 3k worth of insurance but I decided on 5k. There is no advanced knowledge that there is this penalty. And this is not in the agreement, it is in a contract the foreman gave my wife and didn't give her time to read. And we did not get a copy.

Because they accused me in an email of libeling them, I have all of this documented it really happened. Also they did this 8 weeks after I had a quad bypass. The salesman came to our house when I was home only 4 weeks and he knew it. You come to your own conclusions.

I have decided that I am going to take this to the better business bureau and the media.

It is one thing to say you just got a bad crew on a bad day, its another thing to take no responsibility and then use a loophole to rape me twice.

I really don't what else to say. I am not cashing the check, and would rather get nothing than to say this is OK.

Its up to you, "but do you want to take the risk."

Again this is all true and if I have to I will post my proof.
