Florida Direct took money from acount unauthorized and will not refund it. St. Petersburg Florida

I'm not sure how they got my information to begin with but in June of 2007 i received a package in the mail about a florida vacation. The letter said that i was entitled to a six day five night vacation for only $149.00. Then it explained that i had until june 25th to cancel my vacation and my account would not be debited.

So i cancelled on June 20th. On June 26th my account was debited $149.00. As a result of this transaction my account was negative so i was charged a $25.00 overdraft fee. When i called to sort this out i was promised that a refund check for $149.00 would be mailed out plus a separate check for $25.00 for the overdraft fee.

A few weeks later i received the check for $25.00 but no check for $149.00. In small print on the front of the check i did receive it states that by cashing that check i agree the drawer has made payment in full.

So i called Florida Direct again and they said they issued the check and it should be on it's way. But the check never came. So on Monday July 23rd i called again and they said that they would issue and emergency refund check and to expect it by the end of the week. It is now Monday August 6th and still no check.

Every time i try to call again i get a message that says their customer service is having technical difficulties and to try back later.
