I bought a new 2012 Forest River Rockwood Roo Hybrid travel trailer in January of 2012.

I used it 5 times last year.

On my first trip out this year, in May, with my grandchildren, my son was following us with his car.

He kept noticing that water was hitting his windshield from my Camper.

I really thought nothing of it, I knew I empited my holding tank at the park, so I thought it could not be a problem.

Upon returning home, I was cleaning up the trailer, and as always, like I have done for the past

12 years with my 3 different campers, I check everything.

I was adjusting the stabilizer jacks, when I noticed the fresh water tank was "hanging" about 3 inches lower

than it should be. Upon looking, I now see that the rails holding the fresh water tank are "bent" in the center,

the water tank is only resting on the rails at the "corners". Also, I noticed, that the tank moves "freely" back and forth

along the "bent" rails. It will slide the full "width" of the trailer. There is nothing there to stop this tank from moving.

My other 2 trailers, the tanks were "locked" in place. They could not "slide" back and forth at all.

At this point, on my next trip, I am expecting this fresh water tank to completely fall out from under my camper and cause a major accident on the expressway. Which Forest River will ultimately be responsible for. I am trying to contact them to ask if "something" was left out of the assembly process on my unit, or iof this is the way it is supposed to be.

If it is supposed to be this way, they have a major design flaw. I have went to a dealer, and looked under the Rockwood Roo's on their lot, they all look like mine did when I bought it. NOT bent and loose like it is now. The Shamrock's are the same way. (made by same company)

I see a major lawsuit coming this summer. And I am documenting everything I can, with everyone, EXCEPT Forest River.

Because I cannot contact them. I have 2 reports saying I have not had any damage to my trailer that is/was my fault.

When someone gets hurt, Forest River will pay and pay big. Along with a ton of Bad Publicity. I really don't think they even care.

I am anxious to see if I get a response from this. All I want is someone to fix my unit, and make sure the problem does not exist on other Travel Trailers that this company makes.

Thank You

Bought new from retailer in Auburn Hills Michigan

AUTHOR: Ted - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 27, 2013

Bought it new. Took it in for service 4 months after I bought it, refridgerator door "panels" fell off.

Dealer was 50 miles from me. SOB that ran the "service" dept. said I had to take it home and make an

"appointment". All this while sitting his a** in a cahir and not even looking at the problem. Kinda pissed me off.

So I went in and got the "Owner" of the place. He came out, looked at the problem, saw how "simple" it would be to

"fix" and went in and got 2 servicemen. Thay had it fixed in 10 minutes. After which, I said to the "owner", why in

the hell are YOU outhere helping me, while YOUR service advisor is sitting on his a*s? His answer was not what I expected,

so I told the owner, if that BUM worked for me, and I was out here doing HIS job, I'd FIRE him as soon as I walked back

in the building. NOW that it is Out Of Warranty, do you think I'm driving back 50 miles to go thru this sh*t again?

No. It's a manufacturing "defect"....that will eventually hurt someone, or worse. When that 380 pound tank of water comes

out from under my trailer at 60 miles an hour, it's gonna make a mess. THEN, someone from Forest River will get interested.

Don't you think?

http://www.forestriverdirect.com/?gclid=CJjDtNaLtbcCFct7QgodJnEAcA . Is this who you purchased your trailer from? If not, what city and state and if they do have a web address, what is it? Did you go personally to their lot and purchase the trailer or did you buy it from a middle man?
