I had a store card with a leading store in the UK. I was very ill for a few months and payed my cards on time waiting to put on the insurance I had paid. I was sent doctors reports to be filled in which had to be paid every time.
I started this in December 2002 GE capitol made me do many doctors reports every month. I was covered by 2 insurances which the company had asked me to put on.
I had the same thing done by my bank credit card at the same time. there was no problem.
GE had not sorted out the insurance by April and still had to pay the bill and they said it would all be refunded to the date I first informed them (Dec)
I had to leave the country and asked them to get this up and running since there was no way I could go back to work. Since at the time I was given about 1-2 years to live.
I went to Austria and kept in contact with them on the phone and still had to send medical reports every month, Then a company was sent in to deal with non payments. They told me then my insurance was not valid since I moved to Europe.
I explained that The UK was supposed to be in Europe. my Bank and every one else had no problem, just GE capitol.
I was in hospital most of my time here having major surgery and every now and again, a letter would come asking to pay what was a 350 pound bill now mountain up with every letter.
I had another bill in the last month, I write to the company's and explain. I wrote to GE in the beginning, but they just said it is not dealt any more by them.
sNow I find out that many people over the World are in the same situation
