A Little back ground. I purchased a weightloss plan in 2007 for myself. It required me to finance and I applied to Ge Money. I admit that I didn't pay on time but when tax returns came in Feburary2009 I immediately paid off my full balance to GE Money. I asked them if there were anymore charges. They told me no so I completely shut off the account. I was sent a letter stating the account was closed. About 6 months later I recieved a letter stating that I have a balance of over $400. $165 was because of dental services that I remember making before I closed the account and the other balance was due to late fees.
I was upset because the statement had that they made the charges in March when I closed the account in Feburary. Also the dentist sent me a bill for the same $165. I called the dentist and asked them if they recieved a payment from Ge Money. They told me they did not. So I called GE Money and told them that these charges were fraudulent due to the fact that I closed the account in Feburary and they charged me in March. I also told them that I recieved a bill from the company they allegedly paid for my services, and they told me they did not recieve payment.
The costumer service lady was rude and her English was very bad. SHe proceded to yell at me about the money that they paid to this company and then hung up. A few weeks after I was sent a collections agency bill on the $400. As well as my credit report saying that the collection agency and GE Money have a balance of $400 on both. I have sence been trying to get this off of my credit report to no avail. Ge Money is a shady company and needs to be closed down.

It doesn't matter

I knew I was going to close my account before I charged the dental work so why should that matter. That is why I asked them if there were any other charges. Either way it goes I had that dental work in Janurary. I closed the account the end of Ferburary and the charged me the end of March. So it takes 2 months to post charges that I remind you they didn't pay.My dentist still sent me a bill for those charges. If that is not a ripoff to you I don't know what definition you are using. I should not be charged for paying my bill in full. They should have rejected those payments. They even had a different account number than the one I previously had. So they set me up with a new account when not asked and charged me huge fees and you think that is not a ripoff.

"before closing my account I used my creditfor dental work" "the money should not have been charged to a closed account"
You contradicted yourself. Clearly not a rip off.

Because before closing my account I used my credit for dental work. They verified it was a dental office when I asked about the bill. Regardless of that fact the money should not have been charged to a closed account.
