To whom this may concern,
I am a truck driver who is rarely home. I scheduled an appt for the Geek Squad on Sat Nov. 12, 2011 for your company to come and set up my home entertainment. Your service tech called me at 12noon on 11-12-11 stating he was on his way. He never showed up nor called. I called your company back at 5pm and was transferred 7 different times taking over an hour on the phone. Your company called the tech and got voicemail, your company called your tech supervisor and got voicemail. This was a pre-paid service of $149.99 which I still have not received credit to my bank account. I was treated horribly by your customer service reps. I took the entire day off and waited for your service that I paid for and did not have any services rendered. I am very disappointed in your company and the customer service.

Local Atnernatives to Geek Squad

Best Buy and similar big box stores are really good with sales and deals. But their service falls apart due to lack of training and experience of their techs who are really just sales people.
Best combo here is to buy on sale at big box but then hire locally the installer or repair person.
Find a Local person thru word of mouth referrals, who cares about his reputation. You are just a number, a time slot to the big box techs.
You represent a world of referrals and future work to the local tech professional. Find them via local computer groups, craigslist, and you can check with angies list etc.
