Geek Squad attempted to charge me $99 for their mistake of disabling my WI-FI connection in a previous visit. The was no need to do this. The issue that I had had to do with connecting to my external Hard Drive which was not working. Before the repair guy left he was suppose to restore the capabilities of my computer, but he failed to. Then the company tried to charge me an extra $99.00 by way of three different people. The geek squad repair guys had to habit of switching phones of our repair guys when they swap their routes with others. So even when I requested a certain Agent from the corporate scheduling office, the local mid office ignored the request, and sent a different person of their choice without contacting the customer about the change and then at a lower level, the Geek Squad computer repair guys swap their routes or certain repair jobs at a whim. Then suddenly the very person that I requested NOT to come to my home THAT CAUSED the problem - ends up arriving!!!
THERE IS NEVER ANY COMMUNICATION but at the LAST MINUTE. It is SO inconvenient. The internet I use had NOTHING to do with connecting to the external hard drive. They basically told be that even if a had a jump drive in the computer that I was using that was not present when they arrived last time, they would not honor my warranty and charge me an extra $99.00 each time because there are different connecting components. Agent Carson was very kind over the phone and help, but Agent L****e was accusatory and stubborn. Yesterday, I called the Geek Squad headquarters and told them I no longer needed their services. I was able to fix the problem myself and I told them to cancel the next visit.
I had to undue everything the previous Agent R*** did. I learned that sometimes companies can become so successful and big that sometimes they take their customers for granted. I wasn't even going to write this rip off report, until the very person (Agent L****e) who followed up with this issue called me today and became demeaning, condescending and very cold and unapologetic. After witnessing this customer service disaster. I NO LONGER RECOMMEND ANYONE USE GEEK SQUAD AND I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE I SHOP AT BEST BUY OR ANY A STORE ASSOCIATED WITH THEM.
