On December 25th 2015 @ 4:31AM, my wife, daughter and I was on our way home to Coral Springs from Miami Beach ,FL. A vehicle insured by GEICO driven by a white male struck my vehicle and failed to stop, because I didn't get a plate number I proceeded to follow the vehicle after I called 911 so that I can get the vehicle plate number. After the vehicle cross the causeway into Miami from Miami beach the vehicle exited the causeway bridge onto a side street. The vehicle stopped and the driver white male came out and switch with a white female. The new driver drove about two blocks and then polled over to the side on 4th street and 4th Ave.. All this time I was on the phone with the 911 operator explaining to her what was going on with then vehicle that struck me. The passenger who was driving the vehicle that struck me came out and went to the street drain and dumped three cans of Budweiser beer. The female driver that swap after the accident came out and walked up to me and asked me "why did I struck her vehicle" I told her that I need to speak with the person that was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and I had pictures of when then stopped and switched drivers so she went back to the car. The white male who was driving at the time came out and bring insurance, registration and then female drivers license. We exchanged info and they left.. I told them that the police said to stay that they were on their way.. but they left anyways.. The I called the police and informed them that the other vehicle left and they told me that I had to go to the Miami beach police main office and file a police report.. After getting to the station I was told that they couldn't take a report and that I had to fill out a form that they give me and mail it.. The next day I contacted GEICO to file an accident report.. After filling the report the GEICO rep gave me the name and phone number for the adjuster and told me that they will be contacting me is a few days.. No one called so I called and left a about three messages but got call back. I then went to the GEICO website and sent an email.. Got a call back a few days after from another adjuster saying that I was calling the wrong adjuster and that she was the adjuster handling the case.. This was a message that she left on my cell phone. I tried call her back several times and left several messages and didn't get a call back from the adjuster. I called GEICO tool free number and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was able to get one and she explained to me that it was getting investigated and someone will be in touch.. Not word from GEICO for a few weeks until I got a call three weeks ago from my gated neighborhood security guard saying that there was a GEICO investors here to see me. No calls, no letter they just showed up. I was not home at the time and had my 18 years old come out and met with him. I did speak to him a day after on the phone trying to get an update on the accident, all that I got from him was the accident is being investigated.. It's been about two months since the accident and still no word from GEICO.. I left three messages for the investigator and I've yet to get a call back... GEICO is such a pain to deal with and there customer service is terrible.. I urge anyone with GEICO to drop them and find another company, FYI if you shop around you will find out that they're not that cheap as they claim to be..

Miami Claim

AUTHOR: Retired employee - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 29, 2016

From your description, the claim has been tagged as an SIU file(Soecial Investigation Unit-i.e. fraud claim). These take a while to decipher. I suggest you leave a message for the investigator and tell him that YOU will meet HIM at the local office. And then show up.
