I've read two reports here and had a very similar experience with General Warranty Services. This company somehow found my contact information, home address and wireless phone number. The phone calls are very frequent and the mail looks completely legitimate, but I chose to ignore them until today. After receiving the call, I selected the option provided and got to a front end sales person who couldn't answer much about the insurance. This person took my car model, make and year information and my name.

After providing a brief history of the company and information on the warranty coverage, I was asked if I'd like to speak with a sales rep. Here is where I hear that the warranty covers ALL vehicle repairs except those associated with "wear and tear". (i.e. brakes, headlights were examples provided) I'm thinking, this must be VERY expensive insurance, especially with coverage guaranteed for a 2000 vehicle for another 7 years or 100,000 miles (whichever is reached first). I'm told that the coverage is $2299, but with a cash payment option the warranty would be reduced $300 to $1999! I don't know how any company can pay 100% of auto repairs for up to 7 years for such a small amount of money. The engine could drop out of the thing. How do they know what condition the car is in? Shouldn't they want that kind of detail for something THEY are going to cover? Theres another added VALUE in this deal, there'd be NO deductible! I'd heard enough and took a phone number to get back with them after research. I call my car dealership and talk with the service department. They have never heard of General Warranty Services and have never filed a claim or received payment from any such company. I will NOT be doing business with this company. It all sounds way too good to be true and I'm fairly certain that it is. BEWARE!!!!

To the second poster, Im not sure if you really work for this company or not, however if you do, you should take a little more time and realize that when you respond to someone who has concerns with your business that you should probably take a little time and effort to make sure that your response is professional, I too have recieved your letters and was a bit interested but after seeing your response and the way you belittled the poster and the many typos ( and trust me im not talking about your spelling thats a whole different subject, as im not the best speller in the world) I can promise you I will not even entertain the thought, If you as a repersentative cant even bother to make sure your R's are lower cased and that your sentences have at least a complete thought, how are you going to be able to follow through on a contract with your customers? The OP had some valid concerns and the way you came off was rude, not to mention made you and your company look like incompetent fools, and Im sure I am not the only subject who felt that way after reading your rebuttal.
