hello everyone this complaint is about the hiring practices of giant eagle inc this company is a large grocery store chain that serves ohio, pa wva, and i think a couple of other states well anyway i had applied for a position at the dover ohio store # 4089 a few weeks ago and on on 9/9/2011 at 3.19 pm i had received a e-mail from dolletta aber ( giant eagle recruiting team ) regarding a scheduled appointment that she claims i had missed, it then says that we have not received any communication from you attempting to cancel or reschedule
COME ON DOLLETTA ABER HOW COULD I MISS A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT THAT I DID NOT HAVE ????? YOU NEVER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME AND YOU KNOW IT YOU ARE A LIAR DOLLETTA ABER !!!! then on the same day 9/9/2011 at 3:21 pm i got another e-mail from dolletta aber stating that the position had already been filled , THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PRACTICE FOR GIANT EAGLE considering that this company has a very high turn over rate , they seem to be not able to keep people working there in their stores it seems like every week there is a new employee !!!! wonder why FOR ALL JOB SEEKERS LOOKING FOR WORK NOT NOT APPLY FOR JOB POSITIONS AT GIANT EAGLE !!!!!

like i said they ( giant eagle ) now owes mw a apology for lying and trying to me make me look bad , giant eagle's recruiting team is the one that screwed up not me !!!! the ony thing they have to do is admit they made a mistake and make it right !!!
i will disagree with your claim tht i threw away any opportunity to get a job at giant eagle IF I WANTED ONE ) since the only time they will talk to job applicants is during an actual job interview
also abviously your not familar with how giant eagle hires its employees , the only way you can apply for a job at giant eagle now is online through their website or at a store kiosk which is the same system
also i was not upset that they posted job openings at the store entrances or exit doors if they are going to do that they need to post them in their job opening pages in their online system so you can actually apply for them ( GET IT , HUM DO YEA GET IT !!!! ) if you read it correctly you would of understood that !!!!
also i dont need help i work around stupid people all the time !!!! YOUR STATEMENT IS A BUNCH OF CRAP !!!! you do however need help since you cant understand what you read !!!!

LOL!
They owe you nothing. They promised you nothing. You applied for a job. The can toss your application, screw up the whole process, whatever.... They never promised you a darn thing. You threw away your opportunity to sell yourself to them and confronted them instead. Customer service couldn't care less you applied for a job and didn't get one. Happens all the time!
They are under no obligation to post every job available online. Are you serious??? You're upset about that? You sound like you could use some help to get you to a place where you're ready to work with others and I sincerely wish you the best
Sorry my reply took so long. New full-time job... lol.

what happened ? when the truth came out didnt have nothing to say about it !!!
your claim that giant eagle doesnt owe me anything is completey false , they now owe me a apology for lying to me and trying to make me look bad
the fact is that giant eagle's recruiting team ( dolletta aber and whomever else ) made a mistake and they should make it right , giant eagle is the one who made the false interview appointments not me
also that the tactic you used to try to defend giant eagle actions must mean that you may already work for them or you thought i would help youself get a job there believe me it wont work !!!!!!!!!!

to royphil345, your response to my complaint about giant eagle is stupid , obviously you dont have clue as to how giant eagle hires its employees or their methods , in your first sentence you asked why would they lie and say that you missed an interview if you didnt ? i am waiting for the answer to that question from giant eagle !!!! and you need to ask yourself as to why !!!!
your claim that i had mishandled the situation or missed an e-mail or misunderstood something is completely a bunch of bull because you dont know what your talking about !!!!
also i do not appreciate that your trying to blame me for what giant eagle did , the fact that your claim that i am acting abrasive or it was my tough luck that something went wrong is totaly stupid on your part also contacting customer support was in fact a brilliant idea unlike you claim that it wasnt the e-mail i sent regarding this complaint went to the appropriate department in the corporate office as the customer support rep claimed it would when i sent it ha ,ha
ALSO STOP GIVING PEOPLE ADVISE ON HOW TO FIND A JOB , OBVIOUSLY YOUR ADVISE IS WORTHLESS OTHERWISE YOU WOULD OF FOUND A JOB , THINK ABOUT IT !! ALSO YOUR CLAIM THAT GIANT EAGLE WOULD HIRE YOU BEFORE THEY WOULD HIRE ME IS THE BIGGEST BUNCH OF CRAP I HAVE READ YET OTHERWISE THEY WOULD OF HIRED YOU !!!!!!!

What?

When you apply for a job, they're under no obligation to interview or hire you. Why would they lie and say you missed an interview if you didn't?
If they don't want to hire you, that's completely up to them. They don't owe you anything...lol.
If you handled the situation properly and said you may have misunderstood something or missed an email, you're extremely sorry and you were really hoping for a position at their fantastic company... somebody may have pulled some strings to get you an interview. If not, I'm sure you could have aplogized for the misunderstanding and asked to be considered in the future.
Instead, you're acting like somebody who somehow believes they owe you something. Nobody in their right mind would ever hire anybody so abrasive.
If something went wrong, it's your tough luck. They owe you nothing for applying there. The trick is to use any communication with them to get yourself hired. Fail!
Contacting customer service was also brilliant. Did you have a problem as a customer? What did you want them to do for you?
I honestly wish you better luck in the future! But, you're going to have to start making some luck for yourself too. I need a job too, and believe me, they're going to choose me over you until you learn how to play the game. ;)

hello everyone
another thing to add to this giant eagle has another trick that they use sometimes they will post job openings on the entrance or exit doors at the stores then when you go to apply online on their website for the job openings there is none listed for the store that your trying to apply for ( meaning that if they are not listed in the job openings page job seekers can not apply for them ) they do this every once and a while
