Global Tel Link Put a block on my home phone restricting collect calls from husband in prison without my knowledge of policy. Excuses for block never the same. Rude comments of inmates. mobile, Alabama

Gave me several excuses for block on my phone so I can't receive calls from my husband in prison. One person I spoke with stated MY phone company did this. One states maximum amt. of calls received, the other was going over $200.00 limit, another was max calls received over limit in 90 days. Never did I get a recording stating any of the above, NO paperwork or insert in my phone bill. Stating the phone was privilage to my husband, etc. They "forcing" individuals into pre-pay, etc. Please check into this. My phone bill is ALWAYS paid. Why are they "allowed" to control MY home phone? To get away with bad phone calls that you can't hear other party as it cuts out? I pay $6.75 for 15 minutes, I've not complained. How is it LEGAL to block any call to MY phone WITHOUT informing me in any way? Give me PROOF that such an act is legal or please get this block removed and see I'm provided with such information. How can we citizens prevent or monitor such if we aren't given the knowledge? We can't & yes, we become FORCED into the alternative. Where are our rights? I pray you look into this for many of us feel we have NO rights and this company is in NO WAY being fair.

After several attempts to resolve my issue, I stated the above to the Alabama consumer complaints Attorney General Troy King. These people should NOT be allowed to state one word regarding the inmates, ONLY phone service. Its irrelevent & none of there business about the inmates; for there are both guilty & non-guilty there. The tactics of which they use are sickening. I'm appalled that OUR government is allowing this to continue. That only due to what I've read in research of Global Tel Link. Its nasty little hands extend into many states. I pray there shall be ONE individual that will smite them down as David in the Bible.
