I tried the sheer cover and the product does not keep what it advertises on TV. On March 25th 2006 I received the product and after trying it out and not being happy with it I filled out the customer service form on April 21st 2006 and cancelled my account. Today I discovered that Guthy Renker charged my Bank Account with $97.80, even though I cancelled the accoount.

I called their customer service and spoke with Roxanne who wanted to explain to me it would not be possible to cancel the account via email. Well I asked why they have the form online, and why they would give a 60 day money back guarantee.

I paid already $29.95 for a 30 day supply. She said the shipment for 90 days would be on the way and was sent out on April 24th. I told her I don't want the shipment since I cancelled the account already.

There is nothing on the website that states you can't cancel the account via email, there not even anything on there, except them saying you can cancel anytime.
I immediately informed my bank and since the charge is pending, I might be able to get my money back.
I will complaint with the Better Business Bureau and also the Attorney General in regards to this Very Fishy and unethical Company. The website states clearly your account will be charged monthly and you can cancel anytime.

This is a complete RIPOFF.

I have had exceptional experiences with this company. I agree with the posting of the customer service representative: read your invoices. Everything is quite clear if you actually take the time to look at the materials they send.

Yes, you can absolutely customize your Sheer Cover kit. You can do this online or on the phone. I've used both methods with no problems. It's called "Create-a-kit." You can space the frequency of the kits and you can mix and match the kits as often as you like. I often change the mix several times before I settle on what I truly want. And when I get the order, it is 100% accurate every time. I think the products are great.

The original poster seems to have confused the Create-a-Kit with a standard club mailing, which is also an option. This confusion could easily result from not listening to the ads or reading the enclosed product information. We're not talkin' rocket science here. It's really not that complicated. But for those who don't pay attention, well, expect to hit some bumps in the road.

Last, I must say I believe the best customer service phone call I've EVER had was when I called Gunthy at 3am one morning to put in a custom order for Sheer Cover. I spoke with a man named Craig who was an absolute delight. He was funny, articulate, and very competent. Of all the calls I've ever made to customer service centers, his goes down as a #1 experience.

From everything I've experienced, the individual filing the original report may have experienced trouble as a result of "operator error." In any case, for those inclined to try Sheer Cover I believe a top-notch experience is truly possible when customers take the time to read and understand their kit options.

Not a Rip off for me...

I do high energy promotions for different modeling agencies and i purchased this product 2 months ago. I have been very happy with this company, and its products... The make-up its self is really not too much different than your cover girl minerals that they have out right now... but Covergirl and Almay tend to look caky to me, there mascara is the best and their eye shadow's and cream eye liner are some of the best i have ever used!! There monthly club Membership is required for the Introductory Package for 37.00 which is after S&H for the set up kit, But if you just want to try it call right back after you order and cancel the club membership.. mind you, what they send on the first shipment is a smaller amount but for 37.00 2 foundation powders, concealers, 4 brushes, a pallet of lip balms, Cream eyeliner, and the shines for the upper eyebrows and lids. You also get a grapefruit cream cleanser, and moisturizers which i really like.. it is not greasy or heavy. and on top of that you also get samples of a bronzer type highlighter for the lips or eyelids. It may look small but i still am not finished with the first case they sent me and it has been 2 months, and i wear makeup everyday! Be a smart consumer read the statements they send you, and when you cancel things make sure they are followed threw. I am not someone that budgets makeup on a monthly scale i buy it when i need it...If you don't need a shipment for that month just call tell them they wont charge or send it.... Now, When you do decide to order new it is 15.00 per item and you need to at least have 4 items so it is about 60.00$ + Shipping And Handling which is like 10.00 Which if you don't need or cant afford that then i would stick with something else...But for the money you spend you get what you pay for! I do not experience near the break outs that i use to get from liquid foundations or the cheaper mineral foundations from like Almay, or Covergirl. I am Very skeptical when it comes to infomercials, but this one is one to at least try.... For those looking at bare minerals which is totally different you can get it at ULTA and they are full sized..you can find that at www.ulta.com Much better than ordering it :) Mineral vale is awesome, but that is all i have tried from them and it is way more pricier than sheer cover too.. I wish that sheer cover was available like that but alas it is not.... That is all i have to say...Have a good day:) have any questions for me feel free to rebuttal this:)

I just have a lot of upset customer who are repeatedly saying they are going to report us to "better business bureau" or whatever. I work for Guthy Renker.

Now who am I to say the situation? I dont know who the people or customers spoke TO at customer service but from my knowledge, A LOT OF THESE issues are because someoen overlooked paper work, didnt listen in full to the info mercial, didnt look at their invoices.

I know that a lot of customers call me claiming that they did not join a club. YET on the infomercial the work "CLUB" is indicated over and over and OVER again. Not to mention when they recieve their first shipment it is claimed "you can expect your next shipment on (date) and it will be charged to the card ending in (number)" ...

WEL ALWAYS give our customers the benifit of the doubt that they can cancel ANYTIME THEY WANT. NOt only that trusted guthy renker provides a 60 day money back guarantee on all of your products, used, or unused. We follow all guidelines and are here to assist any problem the customer has.

You are SUPPOSED to call customer service to cancel, it says that on the infomercial, the orderline tells you, and its on all of your paper work. We are here 25/7, 7 days a week. We cancel your account per request.

ANOTHER THING, we all know how emails work, we sometimes dont get at them right away. Why would you depened on an email to cancel your account? Your typing to a computeR? Dont you think a simple call to us would be much more effective?

Seriously, read your paper work, review the terms before you go buying things off of the t.v and internet. Sorry guys, you can complain all you want, but we satisfy customers over and over every single day.

We have our handful of unpleased unpleasent customers because they simply did not review everything in full. Please next time you order something from the t.v or internet, review review review... thank you!
