I paid alot of money for a laptop with a known defect that only lasted me 18 months. I expect a laptop of decent quality to last 3-4 years in some cases they can last 4-6 years like my dell laptop. I understand that sometimes electronics fail, but not in this case where massive amounts of nvidia gpus are failing. I also understand I am not under warrenty, but in a case where so many laptops are failing. I believe the company who made the defective product should be responsible.

How do I know this is a known defect? If you go to HPs own forum you will find hundreds of people who have the exact same symptoms as my own. First starts with wireless failing, a restart will solve the problem, then eventually you will start having some graphic distortion, and finally all out failure will accure, you will get just a black screen. You can try to hook it to an external monitor, but can only log in safe mode and you will get a display driver error if you try to boot into normal mode. You can take a look at this link, (((link redacted))) as well as (((link redacted))) Many people have the exact same laptop as I, the DV9207us with the Geforce 7600 nvidia gpu.

Nvidia knew about the defect back in 2007 and are currently being sued by their investors over this problem. (((link redacted))). If hp had come clean about it then, I would have still been under warrenty and they would have been obligated to repair it.

What really upsets me is the HP Limited Warranty Service Enhancement for this issue (((link redacted))) My laptop is having the same symptoms as listed. There are also other dv92xxx laptops listed who have the same GPU as my own the geforce go7600 by nvidia. Why isn't my laptop being repaired?

Companies like apple, are repairing all their laptops with nvidia GPUs at no cost. But instead HP released a BIOS update that causes the computer fan to run sooner and longer than the original BIOS. This ensured that the failing GPUs would fail later and have a higher chance to fail when the warranty expired.

It also shouldn't matter if the laptop is under warrenty as nvidia is paying companies to fix the problem(((link redacted)))) Nvidia has made this a known issue. Which is why I and hundreds of other customers deserve to have their laptops repaired at no cost. That is all I and so many other people want.

My laptop is a DV9207us, but this is effecting dv2000/6000/8000/9000/tx1000.
