Homecomings finanicial called us and spoke with my wife and claimed that we had not made a payment earlier in the month. My wife responded and let them know she has a receipt for the payment via western union and it was made 14 days early. Homecomings looked in their system and found the payment, yet did not remove the "default" title they had placed our account in. They then notified us that they would correct it and give it to us in writing, three times they promised this and never did we receive anything. They never applied the payment.
They then claimed that their system automatically put us in default and that we needed to reapply for the loan! UNREAL
They had ALL the funds necessary, yet none were applied. after a month or so of bickering, we get this letter from western union telling us we have a few thousand dollars waiting for us that was rejected by Homecomings financial, as if they could say they never received it or something??? Unbelievable.
We were then told to not make any payments until they figure out what to do and that they would send it to their special team that modifies loans for customers.
we waited, and waited and called, and waited and called......blah blah blah.
We then received a letter from their attorneys a month later telling us we are in foreclosure!
We call them and they tell us to ignore it, that they have a modification payment plan. hmmmmm? and if we make the payments on time they will only add $10,000 dollars to our mortgage amount and lower our already too high interest rate?
WHAT?
We made the payments on time, they did not apply them and not only defaulted us but then sent us into foreclosure when they had our payments the entire time, and then told us not to pay, so we did not, and then they want to ADD that amount back onto our mortgage in a pre interest state so they can earn all the interest on that money again????????????
HELP! and NEVER

I'm a bit confused...

D, I am currently employed at GMAC and took a moment to look up the history on your account. Please correct me if I am wrong, as I am trying to help people out here...
As the information that I noticed in your file is confidential, I cannot post it here, but I did read all of the comments in there going back until 09/05 and it seems to me that the information you have posted here left some things out. Now, maybe it doesn't pertain to your current complaint, but I believe that from what I read, that what you posted here doesn't give the whole picture.
Please clarify what the problem is, and how I can help. If what I've read in your file is in fact correct, then as you know there is nothing I can do. If, however, it is inaccurate, perhaps we can find middle ground.
My posting on here has nothing to do with the company. I stumbled on this site in my search for some information about another company and decided to check my employer as a curiosity. As I have access to all accounts, I thought I might give helping others out a shot. I am not on here to defend my company, nor am I here to discredit them.
Thank you.

Please refer to my RipOff Report - How to Fight GMAC and WIN dated 5/4/06.
I URGE EVERYONE TO CONTACT YOUR STATE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL REGULATION AND DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU RECEIVE HELP. ALSO, CONTACT GMAC'S CORPORATE OFFICE AT: 215 682-1000 AND COMPLAIN TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO WILL LISTEN.
If things did not work out for me, I was also going to contact the media - CALL YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATION OR BETTER YET, CONTACT A STATION IN A MAJOR METROPOLITAN AREA NEAR YOU. I live in the Washington, DC area and had planned to contact major national news stations there.
Another tip, do not bother with the Iowa office of GMAC - I received absolutely no help at all from them - just a corporate run-around

Homecomings called ME after I inundated them with emails! problems? CALL THIS NUMBER! :)

If you cannot get ahold of Homecomings and have a siituation, here is the number to call DIRECT! NO WAITING!
Amazing, yesterday I started calling all over the place from 214 area code numbers affiliated with GMAC Homecomings, leaving messages and finally reached someone from a number that I guessed the prefix of. I told her my situation and she looked up my account, she then let me know that they were going to get the foreclosure removed from my credit report.
I sent an email to customer service which the email address is located in my last update. I received an automated response as usual. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I decided to inundate them with emails. I sent them an email letting them know that I needed have someone call me who could handle my situation and get the foreclosure off of my credit report. I told them that I would send them upwards of 1000 emails per day. I started sending, and then pressed the "back" button and then sent it again, and again, and again. I sent over 600 emails yesterday to customer service, and every 100 or so, I would change the subject line slightly so that they would have to read the new one. It would read "someone needs to call David today 12-04-2007" or "please call me today or I will send 1000 emails a day"
I received a call mid afternoon from CORPORATE! It was a department that was titled "the voice of the customer" and she was nice and took care of all my needs. I also recorded the calls with a handy little connection I purchased at radio shack. This way they had to hold to their word.
I will post her phone number here

I received a response almost IMMEDIATELY-here's how I did it!

I emailed customer service at this exact address
customer.service@homecomings.com
this is the email. Here is what I did, I sent them an email to this adress and immediately after sending it I clicked "back" the arrow to take me immediately back to resend it again, and did this over 250 times in a row. i changed the heading of the email 4 times, asking them to contact me immediately or I will send it up to 1000 times a day until I receive a response from an actual person. They are now removing the foreclosure from our credit reports.
I will update you to let you know if they actually did that.
