HomEq aka The Money Store HUGE RIPOFF SCAM CONSUMERS BEWARE Houston Internet

In 1998 I used The Money Store to finance a swimming pool in my back yard. I put a considerable down payment on the loan and borrowed on $17,000 over 10 years. The Money Store was bought out by HomEq and nothing but hell has occured since. I have never missed a payment, never been late, but have been charged outlandish late charges if the payment isn't mailed to them a week early...sometimes it even seemed I would mail it 2 weeks ahead just to avoid the charges and they would still hit me with late charges.

Anyway, Amazingly enough all the years later I have sold my house "owner financed" and the new tenants have provided me with copies of all their payments to HomeEq. HomEq has conveniently reported a $17,000 "Charge off" account to all the credit bureaus!!!

I've written them and proved every payment made, yet they say my outstanding balance is still $16,991.05 -- SO WHERE HAVE ALL MY PAYMENTS GONE?? They are rude and hateful, refuse to answer my questions, and when they've been provided with prrof of payments for the last four years they still say I'm wrong and they are right!! DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING!

It is all I can do to continue to try and clear this mess up -- and I've got 4 kids about to go to college -- I'm sure my banker's will give me a loan for their education with a charge off!!! These people SUCK!
