HOUSEHOLD AUTO FINANCE is a rip-off! Sure, lets all pay hundreds of dollars of interest on a totaled paid off car! Carol Stream Illinois

For anyone thinking of dealing with HOUSEHOLD AUTO FINANCE to finance a vehicle, please research the internet for other customer concerns first! I had a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse that I'd had about a year this past June. I'd paid $432.00 on it every month "always on time". I had Farm Bureau full coverage insurance on it; plus the GAP insurance on top of that. Farm Bureau paid within two weeks. It took GAP about two months, as I espected. But all in all everything was paid but $251.55, which I have offered many times to send in and pay. But no, this isn't enough for Household Auto.

They have tacked on to my balance two months of late charges totally $50.00 for the last two months after the car was totalled for late payments for June and July. PLUS interest that is, as of today, up over $700.00! I've repeatedly tried to work with them on this. And I've had to talk with my attorney. It's already on my credit report showing a negative unpaid balance. And some of us can't write a $700-$800 check just anytime they want too. But there is no working with this company. They are out for their money, and every cent they can get with it! Go with anyone else. But don't use Household Auto Finance!
