my hassel with hughes begins right from the start, I recieved a solititation in the mail offering internet in my rural area for 59.00 dollars a month along with the service I am to recieve a free wi fi transmitter sounds ok I go ahead and over the the phone use my atm card to pay for intial instalition. so far so good however the sales person neglects to give me any of the cantract details I admit i may not have asked. and it may have been in the small print of the solitition then comes the installation. The installation seemed to be done in a professnal manner the installer had a good attitude worked hard used most of my exsisting equipment cable extcetra planteted a post in my yard and installed a dish prior to doing this he asked me to to singn onto his computer pad agknowlegeing that he had showd up and giving him permission to install his post and dish. the young man did his work well as far as the dish went then comes the putting the computer on line. The young man was not abile to access the internet on my computer. the installer gave me a address link to micro soft and told me I would have to work with them to cure my connectivity problems that he was done and could do no more for me and asked me to again sighn him off that he had done his job before signing him off I asked about the wi fi transmitter I was suposed to recieve He explained that the company did not send those out with the installers that I would have to call his company so I signed him off let him go and called about the wi fi transmitter the person I talked to informed me that they no longer had them and that they would send me a voucher for 25.00 to cover the cost and that i could purchase one at target or wal mart I agreed that it was a good solution, I never recieved this so as it goes so far , I have yet to see this and with my intial set up have a pole a dish no wifi transmitter, and an inter connection that don't work and the installer is telling me it is my computer not his set up that I need to call micro soft support. and he leaves well I will tell you I am not real savey about how the inter net connections work but before I went through all the trouble of calling I checked the connection to my computer first he had used one of his own cables to connect to the modem, I for no oter reson than just common sense replaced that cable with one of my own a presto I am connected. ok so now I am connected things seem to be alright its slow but exceptible for the rual area I am in and everthing thing seems to be ok for the first week or so till the rainy season starts and the system begins to skip and go off line just don't work I atribute this to the fact that it is a dish and rain effect s that and it is just the way things are however when the sun shines I still have this skipping problem so now I believe it is my computer and I try to resolve the problem by trouble shooting my computer in the mean time I am getting little notifactions on you tube asking me if I want to know why my computer is skipping so I click the little thingy that opens up with and explaination that my internet provider is the culprit, so I got probly the worst sevice I have ever had and I just let it go well then comes the end of the month and I am expecting a bill in the mail While checking my checking account I find out that I am over drawn because hughesnet trough eletronic banking dedutedted 79.00 from my account and I had to pay an overdraft fee of 35.00 so now in one month I have instead of paying 59.00 I am out 94.00 pluse the fees for putting a stop payment on any tranactions from this company. well now comes the hassel with the billing department I call them the lady explains that the sevice I sighned up for Is limited to so much time and that i had excepted a contract that had insurance on the equipment ectra and that i had agreed to the ato banking thats is when I told her to send a service guy out and get his pole dish and modem off my lot. she then inform me that it would cost me a 100.00 dollars for this to happen however I could keep the dish and pole and they would send me a pakage to to return the modem and transmitter. and if I did this in so many days i would not be charged the hundred dollars she also explained that I would have to pay an early termination of 300.00 dollars that it was in the contract I never saw a contracrt nor signed one I explained to her and canceled well later wile going through my email lo and behold there was a contract well I read it finnaly and was interested in my billing but before I could move onto that I would have to accept the contract I declined to do this as the end of the month nears my subscription that has been paid for will exper and then I will be calling them and demand that they come get thier equimpent how ever i my take a hit on my credit report when they try to collect
