I graduated from the IADT Visual Communications program in Pittsburgh in October 2003. I even graduated "with high honors" equipped with some "stage time" to bask in the recognition on graduation day! Wow amazing!!!

However, that graduation recogniton ceremony was THE ONLY benefit I had ever received from IADT. The career services is a sham, the "Dean of Students" or whatever it titles itself is so unworthy and unfit to be in a such position that I can't slam it enough. The education I received was at best marginal.

I don't have anything against any of my instructors IN FACT, I KNOW EVERY INSTRUCTOR WANTED TO OFFER A HIGHER CALIBER OF INSTRUCTION BUT IADT HAD TO FILL IT'S QUOTA OF GRADUATES WHICH MEANS THE INSTRUCTORS HAD TO "DUMB DOWN" THE COURSES SO THE BOTTOM FEEDING, LOWBALL STUDENT MAJORITY COULD "GRADUATE".

Drug use, crime and otherwise stupid, stupid ghetto dwellers walked the halls alongside those who actually wanted to recieve an education. The only reason I graduated "with high honors" is because I intentionally made the projects/classes more difficult than expected by the instructors.

In the end, my credit was ruined due to inability to payback the $20,000+ in federal and private loans, it took over 2 years before I got a job in Graphic Design which I landed only because of those years I invested post graduation inventing projects for my portfolio - all the while holding down a fulltime job in a completetly irrelevant field that I only had because I also held a bachelor's degree I earned four years earlier!

All said, my education was so subpar at IADT I feel embarassed even mentioning it on my resume.

graduation recogniton ceremony was THE ONLY benefit I have ever received from IADT.

I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Visual Communications from IADT Pittsburgh in October 2003. I even graduated "with high honors" equipped with some "stage time" to bask in the recognition on graduation day! Wow amazing!!!

However, that graduation recogniton ceremony was THE ONLY benefit I have ever received from IADT. The career services department was a sham, the "Dean of Students" department or whatever it titled itself was so unworthy and unfit to be in a such position it's mind boggling why the board of education has not already shut the place down. The core program was at best marginal and was only that good because I aggressively pursued further knowledge of the subject matter.

School theft, drug use, destruction of property, "gangstas", and otherwise know-nothing societal gutter-trash littered the halls alongside those who were actually there to receive an education.

The only reason I graduated "with high honors" is not because "I was the best of the best" (well maybe), but mainly because I approached the classes with a professional attitude and made the projects more involved and difficult than was expected.

However, after 2 years of post graduation work on my portfolio while maintaining a fulltime job elsewhere, a lying/failed career service department and 400+ ignored resume submissions all over the country, the only thing I had to show for my time at IADT was huge debt and ruined credit due to an inability to payback the $20,000+ in federal and private loans it took to go there.

All said, my education was so sub-par at IADT I feel embarrassed even mentioning it on my resume.
