I received a letter from ING Direct stating I had won 450,000 in a sweepstake I did not enter. They sent a check for 4500.00 to use for non resident taxes! It was drawn off of BankAtlantic in Boca Raton, FL. I called the bank and gave them the account number listed on the check to see if it was a legitimate account. Guess what? It was not. They told me they were aware of the scam and were working on it. Please do not deposit this check into your bank. It will not clear the bank it was drawn off of and you will be charged for it. I work for a large bank and I saw fraud written all over this one! Nothing in life is free. If it sounds too good to be true....it probably is.
