Internetishop RIPOFF Deceptive Company Pomona California

I came across Internetishop.com while browsing Ebay for laptop deals. After extensive research, and comparing technical specifications with Dell and other brand names, I decided to go with Internetishop.

At the time they had an very positive Ebay feedback rating and I ended up ordering a new laptop directly from their site in November 2003.

At first I had no big complaint with the company. My new laptop worked flawlessly and was sold at what I thought was a fair price. I did however notice some discrepancy between their advertised specifications and what actually came with the computer.

Most notable was the fact that despite what was on the invoice and website, the P4 CPU was not the "HT" model and it was rated at 2800 MHz and not 3000. Since this was not a dramatic difference and the price was still fair, I let this go although I did feel it was somewhat deceptive.

When the laptop was about 7 months old however, the combo DVD/CDRW drive started malfunctioning before totally dying. I attempted to contact customer service several times by email and phone, as this should have been covered under their warranty.

Despite numerous attempts their customer service failed to give any reply. Eventually I decided it was easier and cheaper to just replace the drive myself, however when removing the QSI combo drive, it was labeled as a remanufacture/refurb drive. I again tried to contact customer service to find out why a refurb drive was in a "new" laptop. By this time the company had vanished. The website was gone and their phone disconnected.

This company likes to advertise their "15 year" reputation and good deals but as with most stuff, you get what you pay for.
