On April 9, 2011 I attended Natural Health Show at

Greensboro Coliseum. While at the event I was introduced to a company called It

Works. I purchased a product called Greens and was told to become a loyal

customer I would just need to make 3 purchases within 3 months and I would

receive the discount rate. On April 10, 2011 I received an email for the

company welcoming me as a loyal customer. On April 11, 2011 I received an email

my product has been shipped. On May 10, 2011 my credit card was charged $44.51 for

another order of Greens. If I had an agreement in hand or online I would have

known the cancellation policy as well as the automatic charges. However when I

left the Health Show all I had was a brochure of products. When I called

customer service I was told there is an automatic shipment each month as a

loyal customer. In order to cancel my account I would have to pay $50.

Therefore the customer service rep suggested I make a smaller purchase for June

then cancel account. Now I stuck with 2 orders of Greens as well as order in

June and I want nothing to do with company but left with their products. The

customer service calls are not recorded, the company does not send any

information or follow ups, I have only heard from them 2 times. I would not

recommend this company to anyone.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

If you sell, you're a distributor

AUTHOR: Robbin - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 13, 2016

I hate to read both of these reports from people feeling that It Works is a scam. I think the response for the first complaint covered it well - that was a distributor error, which sometimes happens when you are introduced to the product at a large event and the distributor doesn't even know the customer, but I would like to address (for anyone reading in the future) the second complaint. It Works makes marketable products that people are pleased with the results. This person wanted to be a distributor for a product that works without becoming a distributor. Honestly, if she had just sold the products to friends without advertising, no one would have been the wiser, but to take the product to E-Bay where she was clearly trying to make a profit from something she received at a reduced price - well, that was the scam. Distributors for It Works have access to marketing strategies and rules for what they can not do (i.e. selling on E-Bay or sales ads). As far as the company having bank account information, if you no longer wish to make payments to someone, you call the bank and request a "stop pay." I'm sure this person still got her money out of this deal as she was obviously purchasing an order to turn around and sell. It Works has a responsibility to attempt educating those who sell their products so they are not misrepresented or have misinformation given out to potential customers. Someone who had no access to these documents and/or training should have been shut down. That's not a scam.

I'm very sorry to hear that you walked away from ItWorks! with a negative view. However don't look at it as the companies fault they have their policies in place and have had them in place for ten years!

It is the uniformed distributor who happened to not tell you how the loyal customer system works. As a loyal customer you agree to buy one product a month for three months. Once you sign up as a loyal customer you get the discounted price! you do not have to wait three months for it to kick in!

You should have been emailed by the company giving you a user ID number and a password to sign onto your ItWorks! account so you could change your product for your autoshipment.

As for the calls not being recorded, I know for a fact that they are because I have called there a few times! In fact the last time i called them was 4 days ago.

I really do apologize for a fellow distributor not informing you properly of the loyal customer program! This company is in no way a scam. Maybe the distributor was new and didn't quite know all the ins and outs yet. Me personally I hate to "screw" people over, so i tell them everything about the program and help them out when they need to be helped!

It is a shame you will not continue to use the products due to this incident because loyal customers get more great perks besides just 20-50% off on all our products! Ontop of that these products are amazing, I do not say that just because I work for the company but simply because I personally use them everyday! They have helped me achieve my weight loss goals plus some.

Once again sorry for your unpleasant experience but we are not out there to "scam" people or anything of that nature.

I feel your pain about the It Works Company, Grand Rapids Michigan

AUTHOR: ImaPistol2day - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, June 10, 2011

I have had a similar experience with the It Works Company.  I signed up with them at the end of April, 2011.  I was referred to the Company by a friend of my sister.  I tried 2 of the ultimate applicator wraps.  I saw instant results so I was so excited I wanted to share this product with others.  I was asked to sign up as a Distributor.  I am not a guru of multi marketing.

I started to watch the products on eBay and saw they were selling hot.  I sent a message to the distributor on facebook and asked questions about the loyal customer program.  I explained to her that becoming a distributor was not my cup of tea.  I explained that I had better earning potential of selling them at eBay and a local salon.  I asked if it would benefit her if I sold products.  I was told that all I needed to do is go to her personal website and sign up.  I did just that.  I read the terms of loyal customer obligation and had to click I have read the terms and I agree to enroll in the 3 month auto ship.  I saved a copy to my computer for future reference.

Not long after I signed up and began selling the products I made a sale that looked suspicious.  The buyer never paid and the details of the buyer were suspicious.  It had a first name only, a Florida address and a Michigan phone number.  There was a zero feedback rating.  This buyer was an employee of the it works company.

6 days after the initial bid was placed I get an email from it works cancelling my account.  My 3 month loyal customer was cancelled by the company (not me) due to ling the product on ebay.  The company continued to send me product and charge my account, but I have no access to change anything on my end because when I enter my ID it is not valid.  I am at their mercy because they have my personal banking information.  I explained to them I had no idea, I did not sign a distributor agreement and I could only go by the information I was given by their distributor in which I signed under, all correspondence saved and documented.  I saved the loyal customer agreement I signed that never stated I could not resell these.  I asked to be reimbursed for the products and my fees that I incurred as a result of the false information I was given by their company and representatives.  They have refused to make this right.

I suggested that they revise the terms to unsuspecting customers and make sure that their distributors are properly informed of company procedures.  They claim their goal is to preserve the company integrity and name.  In my opinion they have none to boast about.

It was brought to my attention recently that they have since revised both distributor and loyal customer agreement after I have caused such an uproar.  This still does not change the fact I was mislead and my bank account was continuously charged!!

This company is a scam, the results are only temporary.  A month after I did my 2 wraps, my body began to bloat and retain water. I am worse off now than before I tried them!
