I bought a christmas card from Jacquie Lawson about 3 years ago and I became a member but when I saw the high price of the cards, I closed the account. Then, Last year around Christmas time she stole $12.00 out of my checking account without any notice. Then I call BBB and reported this. Now on Dec.21/11, she stole again $12.00 from my account..
Went to BBB again and report it again but nothing happens. I did see many complaints on the same woman business, about 15,000 and NOTHING IS DONE. Maybe there is not a lot of money but for me it is since I live with a very tight pension plus I don't want this woman to get away with it since her criminal practices affect a lot of people.
I like for Jacquie Lawson returne my money ($24.00) and an apologize note plus I would really, really like her business go down because on this times of critical economic situation, she does not deserve to be on business. She is nothing but a thief.
The membership number I got when I became a member is: 510945019.
I would very much appreciated if you could dedicate some time to look at my complain since this kind of practices could not be tolerated.
Many thanks,
Susana

I decided to see how fast Jacquie Lawson responds if they thought I was a NEW customer so I put in a diff. address sales@jacquielawson IMMIEATELY they responded because they were going to take my money - as a paying customer already not being able to sign in they do not respond. I contacted American Greetings they said they have nothing to do with JL they can only send you to help@jl to reset the password, each and every time I have tried NO RESPONSE. Its obvious I dont have them blocked in my cookies since I have gotten emails from them showing new cards, and immediately when I used my second email to be a potential new customer.
Bottom line they are a scam!

i was astounded to see this report about jaquie lawson cards.. i have used this website and service for over ten years and have never ever been 'ripped off' i pay $12 per year .. for that i can send as many cards a day as i wish . every year the company write to me and says "your subscription is near its end please renew" in actual fact i now subscribe for two years at a time. never ever have they taken money from me without permission , so maybe the lady should go into her account with 'jacquie lawson' and make the payments annual instead of automatic. i think it is very unfair to criticize this company that produces such a nice product and service. i think the fault lies in the customer not setting up their subscription correctly. nowdays many companies have this 'auto renewal' and if you do not want that the read all the small print. as far as the company not writing to you . i have in the past written 'contacted ' them and they have responded within 24 hours. if a card does not get received or opened they willingly will tell you how to resend or give you some help or refund.. this service is perfectly priced and as i send maybe 100 cards over the year .. at 12 dollars that has got to be a bargain.. to say you saw the 'high price ' of the cards is ridiculous.. they are all included in the one subscription.. so do not say things that are not true .. even the advent calendar which is produced each year now is only priced at $2.00 but the program is unique and provides a 30 day scenic calendar with suprises and new pictures and music every day.. for 2.00 they have my vote .. You should try contacting your debit card company, help@jacquielawson.com and American Greetings. American Greetings is the billing party and parent company. Unfortunately there is a check-box for having your membership automatically renewed, unless you "opt out" Some people may miss this in signing up, or it could be a mistake on the part of American Greetings..
Jacquie Lawson is an artist who is not personally responsible for billing and I'm sure is unaware of this problem. I know that the site has poor customer support because they are a very small company. But I have always found them to be responsive if you are courteous and give them a few days to reply. I'm not a representative of Jacquie Lawson company, but I have used their cards for 3-4 years and have always found them responsive when approached in a pleasant and helpful spirit.
I would also add that the cards are not sold individually- once you have a membership you can sent as many cards as you like. If you have not used the service at all, if you write them a nice email and explain the situation, I would think that they will make some kind of adjustment. They returned my money when I had a complaint over their advent calendars which could not be activated.
Going to the BBB with a complaint for a company in England or posting your complaints here is usually not going to resolve the issue. The BBB is more effective for local companies. Good luck.
