I went here and got a car. I put down 1500.00 and only had it 3 days .I noticed a few issues with the way the car was braking within the first two days of having the car. I called Jd Byrider and was told to call back the next day so they could schedule me in for a service appt. Later after work I go do my laundry with my children. I come out and try and start my car but nothing it won't start at all. So im standed for 3 hours at midnight until I can get a tow truck. I get the car towed the 35 miles from the laundry mat to Jd Byrider. I go down there first thing the next morning and tell them I dont want the car. They pretty much tell me well there's nothing we can do we cant give you your money back. So I'm out of 1500.00 which is a whole month of pay. Because they gave me a lemon. They dont even offer to reimburse me for having the car towed there.

Bad news for you - now you have a voluntary repo too

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, May 28, 2017

Was the $1500 you paid a downpayment on the vehicle or was it the entire cost?  I assume it was the downpayment because JD Byrider specializes in bad credit loans. No one that has decent credit would ever consider using JD Byrider. The terms are awful.

Get your contract out and read the entire contract. I bet there is a default provision and that turning in the car without having paid in full is a default.

You won't be able to recover from your credit issues if you keep making new bad credit decisions. A repo is a very serious derogatory remark that will now be added to your credit. The typical remedy is for the lender to sell the vehicle at auction and apply the proceeds to your outstanding balance and get the deficiency from you.  The deficiency is likely to be large because the proceeds at auction are usually very, very small (pennies on the dollar).  If you don't pay up, then the lender gets a judgement against you.

A judgment lasts for 10 to 20 years depending upon the jurisdiction and can be renewed for an equal amount of time if unpaid at the end of the judgment period. It accrues interest the entire time it remains unpaid.

Please research what your remedies are to fix this new problem.
